It looks so much better in the pictures. Everything is a bit flimsy, but for the price it'll do the job for small projects. I like it has a soldering station, and with the magnifiers and alligator clips it makes it a versatile set.

Ok I purchase this because I do a lot of wires for my DJ equipment, mic cables, speaker wires, powerCon plugs, ect.... So I always have to ask my friends to help me hold the plug or wires. It works for me for what I do. Its simple to adjust and I notice that a lot of reviews say the screws don't tie up enough. And the clips will slide down or wont stay in place or the strip. Well people forget this is a $20 product and it is for small jobs. If you planning to do any big job that the pieces weight more than a pound, this might not work for you. The pieces I'm always working with are no more than half a pound so like I said it works for me. It uses 3 AA batteries for the light and the light is very decent, The magnifying glass is not of high quality but it does what it supose to do and if you working with small pieces it's a plus..!! Besides that it's worth the money, at least for me..!!

Good for PCB soldering like in the picture. The 5 board-mount led lights on the flexible arm are adequately bright and can run off of 3 AA batteries or an included AC-DC adaptor. This is a nice feature for portability. The unit is not very heavy, but short enough that this shouldn't be a problem. The iron holder is at a bit on the small side as well and sits at a somewhat awkward angle to the rest of the unit. My main gripe is that, while the unit comes with 2 auxiliary magnifying glasses, only one may be attached to the unit at any given time. With nowhere to store the extra one, it'll be annoying to keep up with the other one. They are also a bit difficult to remove once inserted in the flip-away holder, and too long to be folded down out of the way. If you mount the glass upside-down, however, the aux glass flips out of the way easily and doesn't seem in the way. Overall, this will be a nice unit for board-mounted projects.

Clamps for little items coupled with all the magnifying glasses you should ever need! I'm getting old and my eyesight is not what it used to be; this item really helps. The fact that the (various) magnifying glasses are on their own arms and, once focused, leave your hands free is just great. It also has two alligator-clamps that can hold whatever small pieces you may be looking at or working on. There is, however, a downside. The problem has nothing to do with the product, but more to do with the way Amazon packages it for shipping. It was shipped to me in one of those Amazon brown-bubble-bags instead of a box. No damage to the product itself; but, the box it comes in was dented and damaged and can not be used for storage. Just a quick follow-up. The quality and usefulness of this product continues to amaze me. For such a simple looking device it has many features that don't get listed; or maybe I didn't read them as well as I should have. For example, it has an adjustable light. The light can be powered with batteries in the base or through an adapter--which is included. I'm like a kid on Christmas morning.
