Good book.
I used this book to do some research and while it was really interesting, I always wonder how truthful these guys that are quoted actually are when they speak to the author.

From The Recoginised Historian of our Culture
Bill Hayes has long been recognized as “The historian for the motorcycle culture.” Over the years (40+) Bill, and friends from all over the world, have put together not one, but two publications that share the illustrated history of this unique lifestyle. His first publication, “The One-Percenter Encyclopedia” featured almost every 1% club in the world. He gave their history, where they lived and a short, well sometimes not so short, commentary. “The World of Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs from abyss ghosts to zombies elite.” A great book for reference. With his second book he shares our mentality; the way we think, what our priorities are.“Hell On Wheels”An illustrated history of Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs. By Bill Hayes “The outlaw biker sands apart from the crowd, a beacon of freedom, laughing in the face of authority. While many do everything possible to avoid being marginalized by society, the one-percenter stomps through those margins without fear. Too often he ends up in prison or dead, but the ethos he lives by values freedom over life itself.” This lifestyle demands respect; respect for yourself and respect from others. “If you want respect, give it.” These people know who and what they are, they demand respect! When Bill Hayes says “illustrated” he means it. This book has more photos in it than family albums. Sometimes you’ll get lost in the captions of the Pics. Some you’ll enjoy, some not, but it’s all our history. He starts with the stories, he discusses the history of our culture beginning with our military, the first clubs and the attitude of the men that built this lifestyle. Bill wears the green and white of the Boozefighters MC, and has for over 40 years. He knows the history and lives the life, and it shows. He has put together another pictorial history of our lifestyle, the old and the new that shows the people within this chosen life. He discusses policies and warns about doing nothing to change it. Our culture is silently growing throughout the world. We need to take care of our own. As we stated earlier, some photos will capture your attention and take you away from the commentary. If you do get lost, just flip back a few pages. Bill does have a warning in there, and he’s not very subtle in his presentation. You won’t need a flashlight to get the point. Enjoy

Another GREAT book by Bill Hayes showcasing our lifestyle
Another GREAT book by Bill Hayes showcasing our lifestyle. Any rider who came of age on a bike from 1968-1984 will identify with these REAL BIKERS of the era. Great selection of photos and and items from the true Golden Age of Outlaw bikers. Bill Hayes did an outstanding job but this book should be twice as long, still a lot of important biker history missing, but all in all Hayes tackled the subject quite well. Highly recommend to anyone interested in the true history of this American phenomenon, great companion to these other books... "the Original Wild Ones", "Hell's Angel: Life and Times of Sonny Barger" and "Wild Ride: by Tom Reynolds.

Real and Raw knowledge without cheap salesmanship
Great job of historical timeline and information. Really enjoyed the nuance details and off the cuff stories. Would have liked a better compare and contrast of real MC's vs pretender MC's.Overall it provides a wealth of knowledge to anyone new to the MC world and should be required reading for future prospects.

True account.
Bought for my husband to encourage him to read. As a member of the biker community for 40+ years, he reports this is an authentic summation of events.

HELL ON WHEELS REVIEW
A real and colorful look at the outlaw biker lifestyle over the years. Pictures that stood the test of time. Very entertaining, This was a gift for hubby who was quite impressed. Nothing beats a hard cover. Love that aspect as well.
