Holds me up
I just installed this. After reading reviews on shock to air cleaner clearance people were saying to raise it all the way. I raised it up and it took some wrestling of the air box but it fit. Guessing since I didn’t measure the threads it could go down 1-1.5 from there, maybe slightly more.Stock shock at the rear seat bolt was 21, with my large son on it was 19 3/4.With this one cranked it was 22 1/2 and with the big boy on it 20 5/8.I sometimes creep up to 300 and this shock is stiffer and more controlled than anything I have tried so far. Still haven’t hit the bump stop.I tried the forsa and it was better than stock by a bit but still bottomed out. This shock is way beefier in size/girth compared to stock and the forsa. I installed some street Shinko tires at the same time as the shock. It might have been the difference in more solid tires, but the squishy/wiggly feeling I got when cornering is gone.

Perfect for Ruckus riders exceeding 200lbs.
This clutch was just what the doctor ordered. I'm 220lbs & would bottom out the stock Ruckus shock on any type of small bump. This shock is adjustable both in height & tension. I extended mine further reducing the distance sitting on the boat anchor stand until the rear wheel is only 3/4" off the ground. Also adjusted the load on the spring to a mid position which is perfect for my weight.Simple to install but after adjustment the bottom must be perfectly aligned. Do not overtorque the bolts. This is a Must Buy for Riders on a Ruckus above 200lbs.

Should come stock on the Honda Ruckus
I’m 300+ lbs and this shock stops me from bottoming out on rough roads. The overall stability has also increased, I feel safer and now the front shocks seem a little weak. This shock sits the stock air box, it’s tight but I managed to get it to fit without any cutting or grinding of the plastic air box or any other part of the bike it may make contact but no noises from it making contact with the air box. There may be less expensive options but this is the only one I was able to find that looked like it should have come stock on the Ruckus. I also observed it raised the ride height slightly which is another plus for me I’m 6’4 and have no desire to lay frame with this bike, I think I’m safer being higher up for all drivers to see. Took 25 minutes to replace, remove seat bracket 6 bolts remove rest two bolts holding down floorboard then remove top and bottom screws from shock, I stripped the lower one a bit trying to use a vice grip had to go to Home Depot and replace my missing 12mm 6 Wall 3/8 socket. Once removed I sat on s milk crate and stragglers the rear wheels with my feet to lift or lower it to line up the bolts again. Easy job highly recommend!

it rides like a champ with no noticeable sounds
250+ lbs. here. This makes a major improvement over the spongy stock rear shock. I was hesitant to order this based on many people saying it made slight contact with the frame. On my 2015 Ruck, it just barely clears the space...if I really tried, I might be able to fit a hair through the gap, that's how close the fit is to the air box. Other than that minor worry in the back of my head, it rides like a champ with no noticeable sounds. As far as what it actually does, It raised my Ruckus by maybe an inch or so, so be prepared for that. It is also a much more comfortable ride.Installation was a little challenging: Once the air box is loose, I tucked it to the side with a bungie, and I had to loosen all of the bolts on the seat frame to remove the upper bolt (14mm). That bolt was probably the hardest part of the whole process, as it cant be removed without getting that seat frame loosened and out of the way. Whole thing took about 30 minutes tops.Only downside I can see, if I ever want to adjust the springs with the wrenches (included) I would have to loosen the airbox to access the grooved nuts to adjust. But I dont anticipate messing with them all that much.Great buy!

Dirt road ready
Much stiffer than stock, hits the airbox a little bit but awesome.

I prefer the OEM Honda shock.
I weigh 245lbs and was hoping this would help prevent the Ruckus from bottoming out on bumbs. I don't notice a difference from the stock shock other than it rides stiffer. Unfortunately it still bottoms out easily as with the original rear shock. I feel this was a waste of my money. At least it was easy to install.

It will probably have to be adjusted with a spanner shock wrench (not included) to get a more comfortable ride for me at my 185
This fits, but top of the spring retainer contacts the frame - slightly. Not an issue since there's no travel in the shock at that location, but I can foresee wear to the bike's frame down the road. The shock is much, much stiffer that the factory setup, right out of the box. It will probably have to be adjusted with a spanner shock wrench (not included) to get a more comfortable ride for me at my 185 lbs. weight. I can see where this shock would be a must for the 200+ lbs. rider. All in all, I'm happy with the improvement. No way I can bottom out this shock.

Nice coilover.
Super easy to install, perfect fit on my 2013 Ruckus (with aftermarket intake). Much stiffer and more competent than the stock shock. Stiffer ride, except when you hit medium to large bumps, then it’s smoother than stock as it doesn’t bottom out.
