This review is more for the customer support than the product itself.I realize that Windows Server 2008 R2 isn't on the list of supported OSs, but I was hoping it'd be similar enough to Windows 7 that it would still work. Being unable to figure it out myself, I ended up emailing customer support to see if they could offer any help. After a few back-and-forths with them over email, they told me that they believed that the product was incompatible with the operating system and they offered to refund me the cost of the adapter, without me even asking, which was surprising and much appreciated.

I purchased this product because I needed to be able to have a 3rd monitor for my laptop and found this USB to HDMI adapter. Ordered it, hooked it up but initially had problems because I plugged It into my 2.0 USB port so I only got 800x600 screen which looked horrible. After reading further on setting it up I realized that if I plugged it into my 3.0 without any extensions meaning no USB hubs unless it's 3.0 and it worked the way it's supposed to. So far I am very pleased with the results and is making my secondary office very functional.

Doesn't work and i'm past the return date. If I could give it less than 1 star, I would. Screen consistently blacks out, driver is worthless, and customer support may as well be non-existent as horrible as it was. If you look at other similar products hobbled together by this terrible company, you will see many of the same complaints. They even have some products with more negative reviews than positive ones! This company is BLACKLISTED in my circle. After seeing what I went through with these charlatans, none of us will be purchasing anything from them again. EVER.

For computers with a single video card it is perfect. It is important to have USB 3.0 otherwise the image quality of the second screen is not the same as the first and a lower resolution must be set. However, it also works with USB 2.0, while the resolusion is very low.

About this too dear my desktop on my TV. The only HDMI port I had is for the Internet, so I did the USB to HDM I converter to hook up to my TV. It doesn't work period nothing comes up on the TV disappointed.What is a USB to HDMI converter used for if not for this?

Purchased this to add a second HDMI output to my laptop. It could not have been simpler. Plugged it in, opened the file in File Explorer and ran the executable to install the driver. Connected the second monitor. That's it. Image is good and accepts several resolution options. I did a lot of searching for a way to do this and this was by far the simplest and most cost effective of the options.

The software was easy to download, but the amount of lag is quite noticeable. Also the resolution settings do not work properly with the adapter. Fairly cheap, but there are certainly better options out there.

Bought this by accident but ended up using it extensively with my laptop. I tried several hubs that had multiple functions and found they are rather fragile, get too hot and eventually burn out for one or more functions. When I loaded the driver for this HDMI plug I was pleasantly surprised that 1) it worked immediately, 2) it works with my existing USB 2.0 setup (I will up grade because of this device) and, 3) it uses a standard USB plug which I can get lots of (rather than something strange that I will have few of (or, in my case, none). The little disk it comes with for loading software is cute but rather useless. However, the driver is on line and easy to load.

It comes with a disk to install drivers which is not suitable for all laptops as disk panel is not available in most of laptops. It also gives annoying sound when you shake it. Lastly it does not work at all.

The picture quality was absolutely horrible. VGA output is even exponentially clearer. Plus, it's not plug and play so I won't bother with it.

after installing the software from cd , my windows needed to restore. and trust me i did it twice but this loot did not work.

Great little unit! I use this to connect my projector (which has terrible built-in speakers) to a bluetooth speaker and it works flawlessly. No issues after 9 months of usage, it's been extremely reliable and the battery still holds a long charge. Highly recommend this!
