Mirror itself functions well but the stem that holds it is weak

Just got this magnifying mirror for when I travel. I like the color. I wish it was just a little bit stronger..

I wanted just basic mirror that functions well as well as the design. This mirror functions well and the gold frame is beautiful. It is heavy enough for stability and the rotation is also smooth. Frames are sturdy too.

Exactly like the picture. It’s modern and cute. Took less than a minute to set up.

I had to use gorilla glue after screwing the stem into the base. Underneath the bottom base padding, the plastic seating is octagonal, but LOOSE. I had to cut a circle in the padding around the fitting area to expose this flaw. So before attaching the mirror to the top of the finial, please check the tightness of the stem to the base. I used the Styrofoam and shipping box as a platform and punched a hole just big enough to turn the base upside down to stabilize prior to gluing the under -"locking" plastic nut to the surrounding octagonal gap. This gap is the source of the problem. This method worked very well to prevent further tilting from poor design. After drying, I the attached the mirror to the top and all is well. A solid repair and now the unit can be picked up by the stem without concern for breakage or loose connection.
