REPLACING THE CHIP IS ***NOT*** EASY
UPDATE: OCT 10 2021 - My original review is below. Here is why I'm changing it. I have examined the NEW documentation this vendor has provided, it is exceptionally better. I will purchase their product again. Now, here is another reason why I'm changing it. When a company bends over backwards to right a wrong, they deserve another chance. This company has contacted me several times in the past few months. And while their motivation to have this review changed is understandable, it is what they have actually done that makes there action noble. I will tell you the quality of the print cartridges has been excellent. It was the difficulty in overcoming HP's design to block vendors from providing ink cartridges that are equally good from being used in their printers. This borders on being illegal. In fact, if you research the lawsuits against IBM in the late 60s and 70s by companies who were trying to sell storage devices that attach to IBM mainframes, you'll see a very strong parallel to what HP is doing with the printers and these chip-enabled cartridges. Eventually the DOJ sided with CDC and other peripheral manufacturers that IBM was practicing anti-competitive practices. It resulted in a decree from the DOJ that penalized IBM for 3 decades. So, back to the print cartridges from this company. They deserve to participate in this market. Now that they have improved their instructions for transplanting this tiny chip from the HP supplied cartridges to their replacement cartridges, I'm a buyer! Kudos to them for their passion to make consumers happy. They have succeeded.Well, I'm sitting here after 30 minutes trying to get this chip into the just ONE of the cartridges. The chip has now dropped into the cartridge mechanism and - surprise - I can't get out. It's rattling around in there but since it is only 1cm square.UPDATE: Well, I finally got the chip out of the cartridge, that was the good news. The bad news was I cracked one of the side supports where the chip is supposed to sit. Where I went wrong was watching a YouTube video that showed the person pressing down on the chip to "lock it" into place. That's what partially broke the side rail support. However, I did finally get the chip inserted. The key to this is not pressing the chip into the holder as shown on the video but rather sliding into place, which should have been obvious because that's how I got it out of the original cartridge. Taking that approach for the other 3 cartridges the install process went along reasonably well although holding that chip in the tweezers and trying to slide it into place wasn't at all easy. After all that was done, I gently replaced the cartridges into the print, Of course, the first cartridge failed to read and it good 3 times slightly adjusting the location of the chip in the holder before the printer FINALLY worked. What an ordeal. 90 minutes.

Not the quality I expected- leaks, difficult to install
I purchased this toner package as an affordable alternative to the HP toner which was $499. I could simply purchase a new printer every time the toner is exhausted because it is less expensive than replacing the HP brand toner, but I strive to make sustainable Earth-friendly purchases as much as possible. I purchased this toner in October of 2021as as a backup for the current set. Fast forward 9 months later and I went to use these, we noticed that the pink toner had been opened and the protective strip was not on it. It was very obviously used or opened by someone. I will learn to open my products and inspect them very carefully after receiving them next time. When I started the replacement process I quickly realized it was very difficult and I had to place the tiny microchips in the toner cartridges with tweezers. This is a necessary step to "trick" the printer into accepting a non-HP toner cartridge. After setting them about 15-20 times, it seemed as if there was no way to get them level or to fit correctly. I felt like I was playing the Operation game as a kid. The microchips wobble and float very loosely and if you sneeze they will go flying across the room. After battling with that for about 15-20 minutes, I gently closed the toner drawer and one of the chips fell inside the drawer somewhere. I had to get a flashlight to find it and start over with the microchip placement. This time I was very careful to close the drawer very slowly and gently. When I turned the printer on after several minutes of my printer trying to read the microchip, the message on the screen stated that it could not read them. My husband gave it a try and after about 40 minutes he got it to work, but the test page and all subsequent pages have a large pink strip down the middle of every single page. I am very frustrated with this purchase and would not recommend purchasing this toney unless you have hours to spare, as now I must make the $499 purchase for HP toner or get a new printer.

'assembly required' but it's HP's fault
Assembly of your printer cartridge sound stupid because it is. But it's not these guys' fault. HP installs a chip into their ink cartridges. Third party sellers can't crate that chip (or can't do it cheaply), so you have to manually rip the old one out and put it into the new cartridge. It's a pain. It's stupid. But it saves you about 90% of the cost of ink.

Terrible quality
The installation was very easy, however my printer has become barely usable since I installed the toner. The color printing is blurry, and my black-white printing recently has become color printing, though I do not know why.See the picture.
