Great boots after nearly 2 years
These are very nice, comfortable boots. I have owned Dr. Martens and Keen work boots before I purchased these, and both of them had the sole of the boot split within a year of purchasing them. I have had these Timberlands for nearly two years now, and there are two reasons why I'm looking to upgrade: 1) I'm 5'8", with pretty small feet, and this boots are massive. They almost look like clown shoes on me, but I was willing to overlook that for 2 years because they're so darn comfortable. 2) I am on my feet about 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and the tread is pretty well gone. This wouldn't be much of an issue if it weren't for the fact that Minnesota winter is near, and I'd like to have some traction when everything is covered in ice in 2 months. If it were March, I'd hang on to these for another 7 months. One other very minor gripe that I had with these boots is that once the original insoles wore to the point that they were no longer comfortable (about 1.5 years after purchase), I purchased the same exact anti-fatigue replacement insoles from Timberland, and they were noticeable thinner toward the front of the foot, and never quite as comfortable as the originals. If it weren't for the fact that these are so bulky for my smaller stature, I'd purchase them 100 times over. That being said, I will be replacing them with the Timberland Pro Helix HD 6", which seem to be the next best thing, but a little less bulky.Whenever I'm doing research, I find that reviews from people who have owned a product for quite a while are the most helpful, so I hope that this helps someone make a decision on these boots.

Amazingly comfortable. Fall apart.
Most comfortable boots I've ever worn . Like walking on clouds. Too bad they all fall apart in less than a year. On my second pair. Same thing.

they are still in good shape now almost two years later
As a pipe fitter, I have worked in some of the toughest terrain imaginable. While working the Trans-Alaskan pipeline in Valdez, Alaska, it quickly became apparent that the boots I was wearing weren't going to withstand the 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off, seven 10 hour shifts we were working. (That's right folks, 7 days a week, 10 hour days, for 8 weeks at a time.) I did my research, and found these boots. Two weeks into my first rotation I went ahead and ordered them, along with two sets of air pillows. Not only did these boots withstand three rotations on the pipeline without so much as a scratch, they are still in good shape now almost two years later. I will not lie to you and say that you'll want to wear these all the time. The fact is that there is no work boot known to man that will prevent your feet from hurting at the end of a hard day standing on concrete or grating. However, these boots are the most comfortable pair I've ever owned, and my feet hurt less with these than any other brand Ive tried, which is always a plus.I have worn these boots while working the pipeline, combined cycle and coal power houses, paper mills, nukes, and even at Blue Origins at Cape Canaveral, FL. If they ever do wear out, there will be no guesses as to whether or not I'll buy the same damn thing.

Warranty Is a Joke!
I have purchased at least 20 pairs of Timberland Pro's and these were the first to give me serious ankle pain that would subside when I put on any other work boot (I have 4 pairs of Timberlands that I use in different colors and styles). Every time I put these on, I get bad pain, so I decided to try their "comfort guarantee). I have to pay to send them in and if they find a defect, they will only send a new pair. If the issue is how they are designed does not work for me, then I am stuck with them. $190 down the drain. Even if it is a defect, I do not want to go down this road with those boots because they are too heavy and bulky, but TIMBERLAND DOES NOT CARE!It is a shame, but I am done with them and will no longer support or recommend them to the many people in my industry. I would have thought that they could have worked something out to help me be a happy customer and I would continue to purchase their products, but they showed that they really do not care about our comfort at all and the guarantee does not mean anything.

“Anti Fatigue “ is not as advertised
Very disappointed with these boots. I had previously bought two pairs of these same Timberlands boots at Sears. When I first tried them on, they felt great. The “Anti-Fatigue” material made the boot feel like if your wearing tennis shoes. I work as maintenance technician and I would wear them all day and not come home with sore feet. They were well constructed and could handle the abuse of grease, fuel, grime. So, since Sears went out of business I turned the Amazon to purchase my third pair. Still I bought the same size as always and I specifically got the pair that said “Anti-Fatigue “ stamped on the soles (just like the other two pairs . When I got the boots from Amazon, they looked and felt like the ones I had previously bought. However, after about three weeks, my feet were hurt after a normal day of work and they just didn’t feel right. Fortunately I kept the two previous pairs so I was able to compare them. I discovered that on two previous pair of boots, the “Anti-Fatigue “ material was a foam layered between the insole and base. On the boots purchased through Amazon, this foam layer was missing, however the exact “Anti-Fatigue “ label is stamped on all three pairs of boots. I still have all three pair of boots as proof.I called Timberlands customer service to complain and they basically told me that that’s the way they are now made and there was nothing they can do for me.Bottom line: Amazon customers beware. Timberlands lost one loyal customer.

This pair only lasted 9 weeks. What happened to the boondock that lasted over 6 months?
These arrived November 1st 2017. As of February 8th the rubber material making the bottom of the sole has completely warn off of the heals. This new material is garbage.I've been wearing nothing at work, except the boondock, since I bought my first pair in 2013. This is the first time the bottom of the shoe has worn off in less than six months. A 9 week life span is inexcusable for a shoe that cost $180.I'm very angry that I now have to look for another brand of boot. :(

No CSA Rating (Green Triangle) - For DIYers and US Contractors.
I should preface I purchased these and without even inspecting them, I wore them to work and failed a safety inspection as they didn't have CSA rating. (Canadian Standards Association rating, required in Canadian workplaces that demand safety boots) Thankfully, Amazon took the boots back through their awesome return policy. However, it is really crappy that they're selling the American version of the boots on the Canadian website when even Timberland doesn't sell any non-CSA boots in Canada. I've literally bought the 8" Boondock model on Amazon years ago and thankfully that was the Canadian version-- blind faith let me down this time.Pros:- Very comfortable for DIYer environments.- Having used the Canadian CSA version of these boots in the 8" version previously, very effective against workplace hazards. (I've dropped doors, toilets, vanities and more on my toe with the previous model)- Very well insulated. Great during winters, hot during summers.Cons:- To reiterate, these are the American version and not CSA approved or labelled. If you work in a professional construction, warehouse or environment that requires safety boots within Canada, they will require CSA approval (the green triangle logo). Note that in all cases where CSA is required, you will NOT receive insurance coverage if you wear these and encounter an incident.- Not recommended for warm environments due to the added insulation. If this helped, please click the button below!

Not certified!!!
These do not have the certification markings, and therefor are useless on any job site in Canada. I had to send them back. I was able to find the exact same boot elsewhere with the certifications and they are an awesome boot, I would highly recommend. They do fit the right length, but roomy. You will end up having to get really thick insoles to make them snug.

Comfortable and Durable
The 2 most important traits in a work boot are comfort and durability. This has both. Been using timberlands (their low and mid tier models) for years, all were comfortable, but not very durable. You'd have to splurge more for the top tier models like these hoping to get years of use out of them. Which I'm hoping they will.Quite comfortable from day one, virtually no break-in time. I did however had to do a slight modification for both boots. The stretch fold material on the inside of the boot tongue (don't know what the term is) were too big/excessive and had to be trimmed because they were chaffing against my inner front ankles, causing an undesirable pressure point when walking. The modification does not in any way compromise any of the safety functions in any way, it is just excess material that doesn't need to be there. Now it is all good!
