What magnesium compounds does this contain? How much elemental magnesium per tablet? What are the ingredients?

Got a bottle right here. Back says: Magnesium citrate, malate, glycinate, and succinate. 400 mg total (doesn't say amount for each compound). Also contains pyridoxine hcl (b6) at 50 mg and sodium at 5mg. Other ingredients: stearic acid, acacia gum, modified cellulose gum, magnesium stearate and silica.

Why so much B6 in this formula?

Magnesium supplements are sometimes taken at the same time as the vitamin B6 supplements to counteract the side effects of the vitamin B6.

don't understand the 400 mg when the back of the bottle each tablet contains 120 mg of the contents per serving; that equates to 240 mg for 2 tabs?

My labels (on various size bottles) all say “400 mg per serving” and “Serving size 2 tablets”. That means each tablet contains 200 mg of magnesium. I take 3 tablets every day to equal the 1:1 ratio for calcium and magnesium that’s recommended. You might be looking at a description of how many tablets are in the bottle. (See the illustration at left. It says, as I did, “400 mg.... Magnesium Complex”.)

Are these hard or easy to swallow?

The pills are elongated “ovals” and yes, fairly large, but in spite of the fact that I have a hair-trigger gag reflex, I’ve never had a problem swallowing them. I take one of these three times a day (600 mg to balance 600 mg calcium). I favor this form of Mg++ because it’s chelated (attached) to several amino acids that are normally part of our metabolism, and importantly, because magnesium is a laxative, this form causes NO digestive problems. If taking the pill just with liquid doesn’t work well for you, try taking it with a warm liquid (coffee or tea) or something slippery, like jello.
