This is a wonderful book
This book was recommended to me by a professional and I couldn’t thank her enough. This book does a really great job at identifying who and how you are emotionally which will tremendously teach you self love and care. The book invites you to notice what emotions come up for you in a stressed state and then how to manage those emotions by teaching you how to self - soothe. In essence ,the book teaches how to meet your own needs by understanding your nature and how to utilize the strengths of your lessor natures.Just amazing!!! I would recommend it !

Clear, Actionable..Highly Recommend!
Samantha Fey of the Psychicteachers and the Enlightened Empath podcasts had Carey Davidson as a guest to discuss this topic and it was well with the listen. So I decided to snag both the audiobook AND the Kindle Edition (so I can follow along when I get the chance). Mostly, I listened via audiobook and I was so pleased with the way she has no problem starting from the basics and working her way through each of the 5 archetypes. I don’t typically like when authors read their own work; however, she nailed it. 360 - all the way around. This book is for anyone trying to gaine better insight into their interpersonal relationships & how to be more understanding and empathetic to a coworker or significant other. There is a quiz within the actual kindle edition or the book that you will take to find out which one you are. You can also go to the authors website and complete the quiz.

Incredibly insightful!
The Five Archetypes is an incredible book to learn more about yourself and others. Davidson explains the concepts of traditional Chinese Medicine in an easy, simple and understandable format that both people with previous knowledge and those without knowing any of these philosophies and practices, will be able to understand and practice these methods. My boyfriend has never read a self-help, spiritual, or Eastern practice book and the moment I showed it to him, he took the quiz and read through most of it saying "wow- this is really good". Even with my previous knowledge on the elements and these practices, The Five Archetypes gave me a whole new set of tools to practice. Highly recommend!

Valuable insights that deepen over time!
I've tuned into this method over the years and find it fascinating to not only deepen my self-awareness in all aspects of relationships, but also to see how I evolve. Learning more about myself has allowed me to have greater compassion for myself, and therefore others. It's allowed me to understand those I'm in relationship with - professionally, socially, my partner - on a completely different level, with a fresh lens and ability to really see their needs more clearly and be able to show up in ways that resonate, fulfill. Having all these valuable tools in a book I can reference over time is such a gift!

Incredibly Useful Book
This book really blew my mind. My primary element / archetype was spot on and I noticed that I have been attempting to live in a manner appropriate to a different archetype. This has brought on some inquiry and healing around the way I view myself and my natural qualities, and administering some self acceptance and loving. Very necessary.Anyhow, this book has opened up new horizons of living, and ways of approaching living my life day to day, that are more aligned with my natural behavioral settings. Thank you Carey!

My fav five elements book
I have a few books on The Five Elements (or archetypes), and this is my favorite! I love that there are clear and thorough suggestions for balancing your primary element and also strengthening others when you need it. It's not only informative, interesting, and well-written, but it is extremely useful - more so than the other books I have on this topic. It has ragged pages so it looks beautiful (although I prefer straight edges for easy skimming). It's a beautiful book inside and out - I highly recommend!

Very repetitive and not a lot of actionable info
Click-baity and shallow with very little meaning inside a TON of words. Goes on and on telling you how cool and great and helpful, just to tell you one thing and then tell you how great it was. Had kind of a Super Peppy!! TedTalk vibe to some of the writing, but some parts were dry- I'm not sure if it was just all copy pasted together or they had multiple writers with very different tones and a bad editor. Each chapter detailing the individual archetypes repeats the exact same wording and just substitutes a phrase here and there. Feels very much like hype for a product or service, i kept waiting for the ad drop. Info was hidden in long sections of repetitive fluff and hard to pick out- a few charts and graphics would have helped immensely, but would have reduced the page count to easily 1/5 of what it was. I guess i was taken in by the professionally done cover and blurb- those are both much better than the actual info and writing inside.I did get a good recommendation for another book about 5 element theory and childhood ADHD- it is a very good book and I've found no it's been super helpful to think about the neurospicy folks in my life and the 5 element types. Fire Child, Water Child, is the title, i believe

Cheap, shoddy product - sad because the published content is quite good
I purchased the hard copy of this book because I already had the Kindle version and liked the content (I would easily give the Kindle version 4 stars) however I was extremely disappointed when it arrived. The pages are cheap, soft paper which has been very badly cut - the edges are so rough you cannot flick through the pages at all. It was priced at £11.45 which for the quality is way over the top.
