UPDATE #2: 6-30-31: Received & applied $115 Amazon gift card to my account. VERY happy with resolution of this issue. Good customer service from seller. I will order other toner cartridges from this seller & possibly try the "new & improved" 58X compatible in the future.UPDATE 6-28-21: Seller offered updated improved product or full refund, opting for full refund. Will change to 3 stars upon receipt of refund.In theory it sounds really simple, snap off a couple of tabs, pull out the chip & slide it into the new toner cartridge.IT IS NOT THAT SIMPLE. The tools (tweezer) supplied is not of the best quality and it is difficult to snap off the tabs. Once that is done, the chip does not "just slide out". We finally got one out and have yet been able to slide it into the new cartridge. We completely ruined one chip just trying to get it out of the cartridge & have not been able to "slide" it into the new cartridge as again the tweezers are not very good & it is just very difficult. We had 3 people who have tried. We'll just stick with the HP for this printer & now we're stuck with 2 of these no-chip toners that we can't return because its past the 30 days. :(

I needed new toner for my HP LaserJet M428fdw that I inherited from work. Since I don't print much at home, it was extremely hard to justify $200+ for a genuine HP 58X toner, especially on a "free" printer. I found these and decided to give them a try, knowing full well that I would need to transfer the chip from the old toner and that the printer would always report that it's out of toner. Working in IT, this wasn't a big deal to me.Transferring the chip was very easy and I didn't even use the tools provided in this kit. The most important thing is just making sure that it's secure and in the correct orientation. After that, I installed it in the printer with zero issues - perfect fit - and gave it a try. As expected, the printer complained that it was out of toner, but the first page came out looking great.Since installing, I've printed about 500 pages with the first toner and they have all looked great. No jams, dark/light spots, or errors. Even on a 100 page continuous copy job, there were no issues.These are a fantastic value, IF you are comfortable with transferring the chip and don't mind a constant "low toner" message on your printer/computer. I haven't been through an entire cartridge yet to verify the page count claims, but even if it's half of what is claimed, I'll be plenty happy. I'll update this review with a page count after I finish the first toner.

Everything about this product so far has been simply brilliant. I've noticed no difference in quality when compared with the one from the manufacturer that came with my printer. If I had to pick at something negative I would have to really reach to find something and it would be the switching of the chip, not that it was in anyway difficult to do the tool provided with this product and instructions on how to do it worked perfectly, it's simply the fact that if you didn't have to do it then it would be easier but having said that I am for sure getting them again when it comes time. Also have noticed a "Low Ink" notification that pops up when using the printer but once I clear the alert it works as it should, just wanted to add that here. All in all this is worth the small easy task of switching the chip and exiting an alert of low ink because of the price difference and equal quality. This sometimes goes unnoticed but the seller/product manufacturers I suppose. Reached out multiple times checking to be sure that everything was satisfactory and wanted to be sure there wasn't anything they could do to make my purchase better. Good customer service isn't common anymore and deserves to be applauded when done.

The description accurately describes the product. I print frequently and this compatible high yield cost effective cartridge was a good choice plus saving nearly 40% of the manufacturers cost. My main concern was to buy the extra capacity cartridge so I would not have to keep replacing toner and meet the same performance/quality as the OEM. I had no issues removing the old chip with care, 'readers', tweezers, and a small knife, then inserting it into the new cartridge. I will definitely purchase this product again. With a lower price point and saving a considerable amount of money, I’d recommend trying the cartridges.

The print quality matches the original cartridge. The tool needed to remove the control chip from the old cartridge was included and super easy to change out! Worked like a charm. I've been running on the new cartridge for 2 months now without any problems. Definitely saved me a lot of money. Will purchase again. Note: my printer occasionally gives me a 'low ink' warning, but that's because it's not an original HP cartridge. Just close the message.

I run a small business and do a lot of printing. Obviously one of our biggest expenses is toner and ink. Thus, finding a product like this was a huge plus. Although it was difficult to try and remove/transfer the chip, and I wish they included some sort of tool to help with removing the chip, the overall value and quality is comparable to an OEM product. I'd say go for it if you are the least bit handy.

These toner cartridges are really a great value compared to buying the HP OEM ones. The print quality and number of pages per cartridge are just as good. It is a little tricky at first moving the chip from the OEM cartridge at first but once you've done it it is a cinch. The cost savings make it all worthwhile.

For less than the price of one original cartridge, you can get two! A little work with changing the chip, but dead easy to do. The included tools are of good quality and will be handy with other applications. They work great, and step by step instructions are so easy to follow with pictures to help guide. Very pleased and will hopefully be purchasing again (currently they are not in stock)
