It boiled 6.5 gallons of water using 24ozs of white gas, awesome!
This is a great stove, and after actually owning it and using it I feel like it was a good buy. We have the msr pocket rocket already, which is awesome and probably better for backpacking, though less appealing if you want to be a show off backpacker, but this stove does provide versatility with fuel types and uses less fuel than you would think. I used the 30 oz bottle, white stove gas - burns similarly to gasoline BC of similar octane rating - and it basically burned 24 Oz's of fuel while boiling 6.5 gallons of water. That wasn't all at once but over a five day trip for three people. Pretty slick if you ask me.It does smell a bit due to the nature of removing the cap and pump system, which offended my dad's sensibilities, but he got over it and thinks it's alright. He still loves the pocket rocket and butane. They take up less space and are actually just as sturdy as this.

Best Stove
My late father the Scoutmaster told me to buy this stove and I bought one in 1984. It still works but I liked the new feature of being able to use different fuels. It's nice to buy anything that is so well made it will last 40+ years and my hat is off to MSR. You can go to the top of the mountain knowing there will be hot food for dinner without fail!

No frills great little backpacking stove
So far so good, was given to me as a gift by my loving wife before my upcoming cross-Sierra trip. My hiking group tested it out last weekend to prove functionality before hitting the trail, and all worked just as it should. I will post a more detailed review once our trip is complete. I do not anticipate using anything other than white fuel, so I will not be able to comment on that feature of this stove.By the way, this is not an ultralight stove, if that's the kind of packing you do. For me, the ability to easily cook anything at varying temperatures with an easy to maintain, dead on reliable stove outweighs the extra ounces I can save by going with a tablet stove.

Great stove.
Finally retired my original Whisper Lite. Not much difference between the old and new with the major exception of the adjustable burner. It is touchy to adjust and do not expect a low med and high setting like at home. Just make very small adjustments until you get what you need.

Works fine
Started up, and like others said, it makes a pretty big flame at first while warming up. Only thing I don't like is you can't really control the output of the stove. It's pretty much all or nothing.

Boil water in a few minutes flat!
This stove is the Bee's Knees!! It works like a champ and boy does it get hot fast; like damn fast. You can boil water in a few minutes flat. On top of all that its built tough and is so portable. I can slip it into my backpack easily.

Great tried and true stove
I really like MSR WhisperLite gas stoves. I have often borrowed this from a friend to use on camping trips, and I am thrilled to own my own now.I know the liquid gas stoves can be a little more complicated and larger than the canister fuel stoves, but I really like that the fuel for these (white gas, pump gasoline) is so readily available. I've only used it with white gas, but it is very fuel efficient and I like that the bottle is refillable. It is also nice to have the liquid fuel as a fire starting aid if everything is wet :)

Bait and switch
One star less for the well it's almost $120 but not really, it's $119, but we're going to add shipping of $13 to get the price above $130, so the discount, it's sort of an ebay discount. And one star for not masking entirely over the fuel bottle. Is it included? Is it not included? It isn't. This is a bait and switch company pulling all of the usual vendor tricks that we all are so very tired of dealing with. Beware.
