Very nice. Can't believe it was so nice for the price
I bought this for my fiance for Christmas. He bought a really nice...expensive....brand name helmet for snowmobiling and was disappointed when his head froze on top because of the venting letting in the cold air. His neck also got hit by cold air and got wind burn. I was a little leery about buying this because its actually way cheaper than others I looked at, but I decided to go for it because if the reviews. I'm glad I did..he loves it! We live in WI where winters are harsh. So far...he said he feels no wind on his head...he says its super warm and it totally covers his neck...and then some where the cold was coming in. The material is really nice...not super thin & breathable. Came with an extra piece for the face mask part. Is sewn really well. Very happy with this purchase....especially for the price! He said he will probably even use this on cooler days riding his motorcycle. I picked the one without the zipper.

Warm and breathable, zipper is helpful tooππππ
This product is doing great for me. I wear this while going out when it is snowing. This turns out to be really warm and breathable. The size is perfect for my head, and with the zipper, i can always make it loose if I want to. I really loved this ski mask though I dont know how to skiππ

It's great.
It is warm but the zipper broke when I used it for the first time.Back in August I was contacted by the manufacturer to let me know that they fixed the zipper issue with the Balaclava and wanted to send me a replacement. I accepted, and was pleased to say that it worked! The Balaclava is warm, like really warm. I use it when I ride my bike in the winter back and forth to work. It hasn't been that cold this year yet, but I have ridden with it on for 40 miles in 30Β° F/-1Β° C weather. I was really comfortable I sweat in it, but I didn't even notice it until I took it off. It held in the heat even in the cold wind. It didn't give the clammy feeling than some other Balaclavas or thermal hats do when they get cold. The face mask is breathable and adjustable I was able to pull it down to have a drink. I definitely recommend this product. I works well, fits great, and the customer service is pretty good. I can't wait until winter.

So warm and comfortable
This is just what the doctor ordered for cold weather riding. Here in Seattle it doesn't often snow, but it definitely gets cold and wet. I bought this for my mother, and she had nothing but praise to give it.One nice addition is the filter. If you're in traffic, the exhaust fumes from the other cars is nasty to breathe, and the filter helps reduce your intake of poisons. My mom's head is on the smaller size, so the balaclava fits a bit loosely. It doesn't affect comfort, however, and fits just fine in her Arai helmet. If your head is larger, you should have no problems.

Best balaclava I've run across.
Fantastic balaclava. I snowmobile 1500+ miles each year, and this has become my go-to mask. I wore this in -10 degree weather when I rode last week, and it worked perfectly. No frost bite or wind burn. I'll be buying several more. Windproof, waterproof, warm.

Excellent wind protection
Very good while riding in the cold. While stopped I get some fogging in full face helmet but the nose is warm as well as the neck. I bought it to block wind from my neck mainly but pulled the nose shield down once and realized what a huge difference it made. Covered my nose again and was nice and warm again. Excellent wind protection!

Definitely usable, but could be improved.
The coverage this balaclava provides is great. And for living in the PNW as a bicyclist, this is an essential piece of gear. It'll really help keep you warm when out on a bike ride in the cold and rain. Even your neck and part of your shoulders get covered. And it comes with a small air filter to go over your nose/mouth, which is a cool little bonus. However, I do find myself regularly needing to adjust the nose + mouth section. That section tends to slide or move forward, and I find myself needing to pull it back quite often, in attempts to tuck it under the hood. It's usable, and I will continue to use it, but I will also be modifying it, by sewing the face-mask section to the hood. I think if there were draw strings, or maybe even a small Velcro strip to tighten the face-mask part as the user needed, it would be a 5-star product. I would still recommend this product.

Better than "mouth box" style balaclava's at three times the cost.
Great neck coverage for spirited early spring rides in freezing temps. The mouth cover is slightly restrictive but no more than the average for this kind of balaclava. The dust filter is a gimmick for sales, you'd never be able to breathe through it without better sealing the front to your nose and mouth. Fogging would be an issue if I didn't use a pin-lock visor. USE A PIN-LOCK VISOR!!!! Helmet fit will be a little tighter as this balaclava actually has some mass to keep you warm. :) Better than the Klim style mouth box balaclava as this does not funnel high speed freezing air at your mouth and nose.
