Good for FireX smoke alarm? YES
This is the good stuff, if you want to use a rechargeable battery for your FireX integrated smoke alarms.

We like these. They seem to hold their charge for quite a long time. We use ours in our fan/light kit remote so we don't want to have to change it out often and like having extras on hand all charged up and ready to go. Works great with EBL's charger too.

Not for smoke detectors
11/27 updated from 1 star to 4 for customer service. EBL issued me a refund on the 9V batteries. I really wanted these to work on our smoke detectors, hopefully they can come up with something that handles the constant drain better.We love EBL batteries and have saved hundreds by being able to recharge them for frequently used toys and remotes. But this ain't it for 9V and smoke detectors. I bought them in September and 2 months later the batteries are already drained and 2 detectors are chirping low battery. A normal 9V lasts a year. I could have been ok charging and replacing these every 6-8 months, but not replacing 6 units every 2 months.

Shipped at 9.0 V, Used slow NiMH charger to 10.0 V {40 min to charge}. Fits well in all !
The EBL 9 Volt rechargeable battery is slightly smaller than my Rayovac and Radio Shack 9V rechargeables, so it fits better inElectrical Multimeters, Smoke detectors, Stud Finders.EBL 9V has 280 mAhr, which is better than 200mAhr in rayovac, and 150mAhr in RadioShack.I place scotch magic tape over the leads when storing after hearing about a 9V fire on 7/9/2025 in the news.9V batteries are very easy to short if thrown in drawers with paperclips!Great Battery, Thank You EBL- C
