I would fry up some low fat canadian bacon and add. Flavor on the whole is very good for a vegetarian product. You can see bits of onion and red bell pepper. Easy to use, just tear open the package. Serving size is fine for one serving per packet. If you want congri in a hurry, as for unexpected guests, just mix with white rice. No chemical or preservative tastes, but there is a strong salt taste.

I recently made a batch of Cuban style picadillo, which I served with rice and plantains. I would have liked some Cuban style black beans to serve alongside it but had no interest in going to the trouble of making them from scratch.Then, I spotted these on the Whole Foods website, and the reviews were great. So, I decided to try them. Well, they exceeded my expectations, as they are absolutely delicious! I served them with my leftover picadillo, rice, and plantains, and it was as it I had put icing on a cake. They were packed with flavor and absolutely delicious!They are so easy to prepare. I used the microwave rather than the stove top method to heat it. I just put a small slit in the microwaveable bag it came in just to vent it and popped it into the microwave for a little over a minute. Out came piping hot cuban style black beans. One bag provides two portions, if using it as a side dish. Try it. You’ll love it!

FILLO's Cuban green sofrito beans are super tasty. They have an original home cooked/restraunt taste that I really dig. They put some time and care into these beans. They are tender, packed with flavor and very easy to incorporate into all types of dishes. You can also stuff your face on the fly and eat straight out of the bag if you want! The cuban green is easy on the palate, it's not spicy but has great depth with hints of garlic, and light hints of onion and cumin and I think this is where that cuban green comes into play. They puts some zing into black beans that's for sure, love this recipe they've put together. Canned beans from the grocery store do not taste good for the most part. Especially, the blacks. The bag really helps make for a more pleasant flavor and ease of use. I think cans ruin what little flavor most of your run of the mill black beans have to begin with. They simmer them in olive oil according to the recipe notes on the bag. I think that helps maintain the soft texture and really locks in the flavor and compliments the spices. I have been keeping Fillo's in the cupboard at my house and have since abandoned run of the mill beans from the grocery store. I think this is the future of beans, and Fillo's isn't overpowering the receipes so I think standalone they're great and of course if you want to go bannanas you can add your own twist if you want to spice them up and dress them up or down... Whenever we go on trips the bag makes for a nice portable treat while on the road (camping, airports, road trips) as all you need is a spoon. I have been mixing them with eggs, tacos, fajitas and often as a stand alone side dish. we love to mix with pork dishes as well. The sky is the limit. I've been doing nachos lately b/c I think they do great with tortilla chips, cheese, sour cream and pico. I hope they start carrying these in Texas grocery stores. I feel the packaged bean scene is lackluster down here and really excited to be able to have these original, home made in the USA beans delivered to my front door.

I love the ingredients in this package. Simple and flavorful without all the extra filler and such. Put it over leftover brown rice and a salad for a perfect quick and healthy dinner.

The Cuban beans are excellent in flavor. I dilute the beans with purified water and eat as a soup at times. The amount and types of spices and herbs make the beans stand out from their canned competitors. The beans are perfect with any Spanish type dish and you can always add water to get the consistency you desire. This is the second time I have purchased this product and it will not be my last. I simply love the flavor of these beans.

We originally were purchasing these pre-cooked season black beans ( and other varieties) at Publix. Now that I have fallen in love with the product they have stopped carrying them much to my dismay 😩Although more costly, I was so happy to find them on Amazon.These are mildly seasoned and are a prefect size package for two people. You microwave them right in the pouch.
