Is it possible to operate this without the fan mount housing attached (so the top of back is flat and fan grills exposed)?

You can run it without the housing attached but then you are just blowing the fumes back into the room you are in. No the fan grills are not exposed, the fans blow up through the housing where the outlet should be attached to the hose. It would be ideal to have the hose situated to blow the fumes out of a window. That is the way I have mine set up.

Can this be used to vent laquer based airbrush paint?

Yes. As a matter of fact I have been using it with rattle can spray paints. No problems at all . The fan does not send the overspray through any electronic parts. \\][//

Hi, do you sell the flex duct extention, I am short by 8" to my window?

Sorry, I'm not a seller, but a buyer of this paint booth. I would think you could buy some dryer duct and connect between the vent and the duct work supplied with the kit.

What kind of power cord can I buy for a replacement?

You should try to find a 12 gauge wire, it's capable of carrying more current and more overheat on you
