DannerPond Boss Waterfall Pump, 5000 GPH

We have a KOi pond and when this pump arrived I was skeptical. No way this thing will push water up to my waterfall filter. Well let me tell you this pump is amazing. I had a vertical pump that is 3 times the size, draws 2 amps more than this and doesn't flow as well. It was just installed is the reason for the low longevity rating but if I get the use out of it others have I'll be happy. What's nice about this one is it's a horizontal design and lets me use more filter media in my skimmer and still flows very well.

The Pond Boss Waterfall Pump, 5000 GPH is terrific- that is the pump it's self. I have plenty of experience with pond pumps, and it didn't take long to figure out the water slow -down/ blockage problem. The net supplied with the pump has holes way too small to accommodate a large pond. It just clogged up way too fast with debris that should easily pass through the pump. Easy solution- just use a different cover net with larger holes. At first the pump slowed down considerably after a couple of days. I'd hose it off and a few days later, the same problem. After changing to a larger-holed net the pump has been running all summer without any noticeable drop in water pressure. For the price, it is a great buy!

Installed this pump in my koi pond about a month ago. So far, it runs well. I didn’t realize it came with a mesh bag to protect it, and I had bought another bag separately. My only complaint is that the plastic cage that protects the motor warped and sunk inward within a few days. Other than that, the pump is doing what it’s supposed to do.

Truly the "Boss" pump! I built a new pond downhill from my existing one and created waterfalls between with this pump. Very powerful! I just installed so I'm still getting the quirks out of the system. I've got it in a filter box so it's doing double duty as a waterfall pump and filter set up. It's a little overpowered for my set up but it makes my falls look great!

This is a GREAT and powerful pump. My five stars is a review of the pump alone. A word of warning, BE careful using the bag. It seems like a great idea, however, the mesh is fine and becomes clogged easy. I found that my pump ran BETTER WITHOUT the bag filter around it. I was pulling my pump out and spraying it off at least once a week. I purchased a pre-filter that catches debris BEFORE it drops to the bottom of the basin. MUCH better solution.

Very powerful pump. We used it to swap out a smaller pump and are really surprised at the power it providesThe pump bag gets a bit clogged so we just leave the pump in the skimmer box alone. It does move the water!We have a waterfall, filter and a return water jet all running off this one pump. We opted to use 2 inch flex pipe so not sure what smaller pipe would do to performance. We also installed flow valves to equalize pressure properly to the waterfall, filter and jet. Most of the pressure is being applied to the underwater jet.

Had this pond pump in the pond less than a month. But we got it June 16th so the window is closed. Amazon Customer service? Is there any? You’d think a pump for almost $300 you’d get some kind of customer service. Never again live and learn. Do not buy products like this from Amazon. Go to a reputable store where they are willing to help you.. ZERO stars. Unbelievable!

Worked great for about a month then stopped working. Pump was being used to circulate water in a holding tank then just stopped under the same operating conditions as before and wont come back on.
