The Beyond [Blu-ray]

I love this film. It is classic Fulci fare with gallons of bright red blood, overly gory deaths, classic plodding zombies that somehow manage to outrun everyone and a simple but well told story pinning the whole show together. Throw in some really god performances from Fulci veteran Cat McColl and David Warbeck and a creepy score by Fabio Frizzi (Zombie Flesheaters, City of The Living Dead) and you have a recipe for a classic Italian/ American videonasty.

So glad I bought this: it's brilliant! Much better than the previous releases, of which I have a few. I love the idea of having a choice for the prologue that comes in the standard sepia, black and white,the colour version (that's how it was originally shot) and a new alternative sepia on colour that was created by Shameless. The quality is good, I had no problem with sound. Superb extras!

Great film, excellent transfer, terrible sound for English. Why would you mess up the sound? The Italian audio is great!

Being a horror fan I held off buying this for a while due to hearing about picture and sound problems, I took the chance and glad I did, there was no problems with anything, even the alternate opening that was re-introduced.

An excellent steeltin blu ray of Fulci's gothic zombie classic with some great extras. If your a fan of classic horror with tons of gore then The Beyond should be added to your collection. A film which wasn't given much credit upon release, it has now been rediscovered and recognised as one of the best of its kind.

Picture is great the best the film has ever looked and with the option to select what colour filter is applied during to intro the yellow tint looks amazing but .......The audio is beyond repair it sounds hollow and echoey and really loud in the worng places and really quiet where it shouldn't . The sound mix completely breaks this release which is a real shame as evarything else is top notch there is just no way I can tolerate the poor audioAlso some have said that if one switch there amp settings to stereo that this fixes the issue and I can safely say no it doese not , it's a botched job and shameless should do a replacement program to fix there mistakeUntill then I will continue to watch my achor bay dvd as that is still the best all-round way to watch itThe beyond seams to be cursed in regards to a hd release even arrow and grind house releases got this wrong but this one could of hit the mark if the audio wasn't just broken

I don't think it is necessary to speak about the movie here, but I will evaluate the Bluray edition. The steelbook is very nice and the quality of the film is really good. The discs are full of interesting extra contents. The booklet also is really interesting with many pages and good print.

One of Lucio Fulci's finest, Arrow Video once again does a great job of remastering picture and sound. First rate job all around.
