Best torch I've bought lately
this is the 4th torch I've bought in the last 6 months. It's also by far the best. It's definitely worth it to spend a little more on this one than save a few dollars on something that is $20-40 and you'll be replacing in 3-6 months anyway (or the igniter goes out, which is very annoying to use a lighter to light your torch). UPDATE: After owning this torch for over 4 months now, I figured I'd submit a follow up for my review. There is not much to say though- this torch is exactly like the day I bought it; no signs of wear. I use it several times a day, every single day. Another great thing about the torch I've noticed is that it regulates the gas better than any torch I've had, in the sense that it allows you to use every last bit. When the torch is almost empty, while not quite full strength, it still gives you a decent flame until it's completely empty. And as many people suggest to empty the torch before refilling it, you won't waste that last bit of fuel like with other torches, where the flame just slowly goes down to an unusably small flame for the last 10% of the gas. Every other torch I have owned, regardless of initial quality, have all started to show major signs of wear within 2 months. This torch might be a little more expensive than the others, but if you plan on using it much, it'll be cheaper in the long run as you won't be replacing it. 2 YEAR UPDATE: I have now owned this torch for two years, and I'm happy to report that it has worked flawlessly the entire time. A friend recently purchased a new one, and if you look at mine side by side with his, they look pretty much identical; really shows how well this torch has held up in the long term. I have read that by doing a couple things you can prolong the life of your torch, which I have always done. Whenever refilling, first allow it to run out completely, and then take a small screwdriver or similar tool and purge the last bit of the butane out- then refill it. Then wait at least 20-25 minutes to allow the gas to warm up inside the torch; it is very cold and there is the possibility of liquid butane being sent through the nozzle of your torch, which will damage it.

Best torch ever
Purchased mine in 2017 and it finally needs replaced in 2026.

Most Efficient Butane Torch Available
The Blazer GT8000 Big Shot torch design is the best Butane Torch design money can buy; the igniter does not go bad, the refill system functions perfectly, it heats up fast, it fits perfectly in a small bag, its platform creates a safe release and is designed to heat up fast.

A portable torch of much reliability and many applications.
I love how hot and yet efficient this torch is, a tank of gas lasting me quite a long time. It is pretty hard to tell exactly how much you have left through the bottom window, but you can at least tell when your on your last 20%; also you can feel impending emptiness by weight too. The construction is durable all of the way through, the only way you can get one that doesn't work new or that doesn't last many years is by some insanely bad luck or product care. I know people who have had only one of these for years who use horrible quality fuel and drop theirs all the time and still it puts out like new and barely has visible residue. So if you use nothing but top quality N-Butane like me, then there is nothing short of a getting caught in a nuclear holocaust that will cease healthy function of your Big Shot for many years to come (I know that was dramatic, the point is it's a challenge to break one of these in a residential or professional environment, but not so much in a war-zone). I use this torch for brazing and burning concentrates, and I know plumbers and low-temp job welders that swear by this guy. This torch has such a nice heat focus delivering such a skinny flame, I bet a master could craft jewelry with this. I have heard many people say it can't stand up to wind. Honestly even though it is more wind sensitive than the other 8" or 6" torches I have tried, it's not by much. That and paired with the fact this has no safety letting you light it and stay lit out of your hands, you can set it on the floor for the least wind interference.

This torch is no-brainer.
This is the best torch you can buy. It literally checks all the boxes. High capacity tank, very durable design, robust ignition system. The nozzle gets very hot and you need to make sure keep it away from things once you're done using. Metal nozzle covers are available from other manufacturers and they do a great job of dealing with this issue. Other than that, you literally can't say anything bad about this thing. It's likely that it would still function in the apocalypse. If I would have known about it sooner, I would have bought one sooner.

Are you feeling lucky?
Hit or miss. When they are properly made they are great. But if you get a dud that leaks.... Mannnnnn. I guess I'll just go back to buying cheaper torches if I can't count on a "premium option". My first one was great and broke because I dropped it like a dummy. Replacement is leaking through where you fill it from immeadiately. Tried to tighten that attachment with a flathead which helped for a bit but now its leaking again. Waste of almost $50 as I'm sure getting a warranty replacement is not worth the time and effort. No option to return through Amazon either. Boooo Amazon and Boooo Blazer. You guys are both looking to lose my business it seems

You could weld with this thing
This will burn through anything easy probably easy to well with them although I’m not a welder, but this thing is hot. You gotta be careful with it. Unreturnable due to the hazardous material if you ease this is, you can never get rid of it out of the tank so you can’t return it. Burns very hot if you’re looking for a butane lighter for your cigarettes way way overkill you get this thing lights well every time not does not burn well on very very low settings cause the flame just goes out built for heavy duty working situations construction.

March 2023 4 years old and still works like the day I got it. It is run every day for at least 2 mins per day. Update; July 2021. This torch has worked perfectly for 2.5 years with daily, regular use. I wouldn't buy any other torch. It honestly works like the day I got it. Original review below: I've owned a lot of torches. This one, I only just got it. So, I have no idea how it will hold up compared to other torches. However, many torches I have bought have only lasted around 3 months. The last one I purchased lasted over a year, though, and still works. I bought this one because it's apparently the best. It'll be a long time until I know if it can last as long as my other one, a Newport torch, also purchased from Amazon if I remember correctly. All that said, this torch uses my butane slower. It seems to be more fuel efficient, the flame is more concentrated, the flame is more powerful and can withstand the wind better. I'm not a big fan of the activation and deactivation method. You turn a knob to open the gas and then strike with a button, closing the knob to turn it off. Because of that design, it feels less safe. Compared to my other torch, which is like most torches(that I've owned), and has a safety, you unlock, press button, and have to hold or lock to keep on. If one of my kids happens to get their hands on this torch, I feel like they'd be more likely to be able to trigger it or do something dangerous than they would with my old torch, and most torches, if not all, torches I've owned before that. Aside from that, I'd say this is the best torch I've ever owned. We'll see how it stands up to daily use for the next year and hopefully, I'll remember to update this review then. Edit-3 months Still works like the day I bought it. Nothing has changed.

Love this torch, it’s great for making silver jewellery as it can solder bigger pieces.

Excelente calidad. Muy superior a otros modelos de la misma marca, ni se diga de marcas genéricas que se descomponen al mes.
