yes, the cpu can support, however, the bios setup is motherboard dependent.

I have used the one further from the CPU for a Samsung Pro 1TB NVME SSD, and I'm getting full speed.

The board can definitely handle over locking. As to that specific processor, look up the motherboard on the ASUS web site. Under its support tab there is a complete list of compatible processors as well as ram modules.
