Nice scale. Sturdy enough for the kitchen
Nice scale. Sturdy enough for the kitchen, nice display, fairly consistent, seems reliable thus far, and the price is right. I'm a regular scale user. I have daily use for a variety of scales. Postal, food, hobby, health, etc. I have to mention that using digital scales for quite a few years, from a variety of manufacturers. I seem to get reliable use out of them for 5 or six years, then they die. (usually from accumulated bumps and bangs during use. They are just a tad fragile, as they warn in the instructions) This particular scale replaced my small kitchen scale. It's primary function at the moment is for measuring coffee. I measure by weight, not by volume, so this scale gets constant use. Here are the features that I most appreciate, in no particular order: Excellent display. It has large digits, uncluttered display, and nice back-lighting. Easy to read without leaning over or squinting. Uses normal batteries. Weight to 1/10 gram. That's a nice increment for many uses, and nice in the kitchen. Great for coffee. Self zeroing, I can place my container on the scale, and turn it on, it sets itself to Zero so I'm only weighing the contents, not the container. Can undergo precise calibration if one ever requires it. Though frankly, if you need that kind of precision, this is probably not the scale for you. I wouldn't depend on this one if I were transacting precious metals. One unexpected thing I like. It has a nice, firm, clear plastic cover that fits over the whole scale, like a hat. I use that. Keeps the whole thing clean. No food particles or spills to get on the display or buttons. This is fun, it does one neat "trick" I haven't had on any of my scales before. It can count stuff. For instance, if you wanted to know how many candy pieces are in a "batch" you weigh one, hit the counting button, then weight the whole batch, and it will tell you how many are there. Actually, I can't think of a use for that feature, for myself. I just use it as a scale. If it fits you're needs, I have no doubt most users would be very happy with this one. It was pleasantly surprised with it. Hope you will be, too. -Berk

Can’t beat it at this price point
First off, I’m using this scale for making pour over coffee. For this use I wanted 0.1 gram resolution and hopefully accuracy better than +/-1g so that I can more accurately dial in my method and work to improve the repeatability of my brews. If you don’t feel like reading this whole review I can say right now my expectations were greatly exceeded. General thoughts: -This scale is small! the weighing platform is roughly 4”x4” and is perfect for holding a coffee mug. -This is a sub $15 scale and it shows. It is built to a price point. The weighing platform is made from light gauge stamped sheet metal, the whole scale is very light, and the buttons feel cheap. If you have the money and value having “nice” things you may be interested in a higher priced scale. -While I would hate to see what would happen if I dropped this scale off the counter, they seem to have put money into the things that matter. I have access to calibrated weights and tested my scale: not only can it resolve to 0.1g it’s also accurate to +/-0.1g. Calibration test: The calibrated weight set I used went up to a total of 1kg. I placed each weight (or set of weights for values over 400g) on the scale 3 times to check repeatability. Each of the 3 times the scale read exactly the same for each weight. These values are listed below. 100g weight = 100.0g 200g weight = 200.0g 400g weight = 400.1g 800g weight = 800.1g 1000g weight = 1000.0g At this price point I would have been fine if it came out to +/- 1g, but coming out to +/-0.1g is truly a surprise. I will say that it seems to be sensitive to where you place the weight on the platform. Placing weights at the edges gave readings as far as 0.3g off and lower repeatability (placing the same weight at the same spot on the edge gave a different value each time, but never more than 0.3g from the specified value. This behavior isn’t limited to just this scale though. I work with MUCH more expensive equipment that behaves similarly. If you’re conscious of placing your items at the center of the platform you can definitely expect +/-0.1g accuracy. In normal use(less careful use) I expect +/-0.2g which is more than good enough for coffee. Overall, I can’t recommend this enough for the price I paid. As I said before, those who can afford more and like having things that are more well built would probably be more satisfied with a higher price-point scale (even if they perform the same). For those who don’t want to spend more, this scale is excellent.

TOP500 Smart Weigh Digital Pro Pocket Scale.
The product shipped and received on time as promised. And the packaging was perfect condition. Liked the fact the batteries was already in place, and a little tab to remove to immediately get started. Also liked the first contact by a support specialist who informed me of shipping status. Along with contact number for Customer Support number if needed. To include a means to get a “paperless manual” if needed. - Since the manual may be small and hard to read for some people. - But I didn’t have a problem; since they provided a general video overview on/in the photo section of the product description before ordering. -- So far so good. As the old saying goes. It helps to read the directions before use. Such things as making sure the “work area is stable” and “free of any vibration”. And making sure items are centered on the scale, and not being rushed. For durability and such, we will see. - For the moment it is being used to measure general bulk vitamin and other food items (be it liquid/solid), etc. The product has already helped in improving my health/life at this point. Hence saving money by being more precise and consistent in what I do. And allowing me to buy in bulk items that would infeasible to buy or take otherwise. At this point it is a good value for my needs. - Plus the plastic trays have already come in handy to protect the device and for measuring. I’m sure I will come up with more ‘uses’ as time goes on. AT this point. I only plan to use the device at home. Hence hopefully not bumping it around a lot. And making sure it is turned off before moving if need be, etc.

The Smart Weigh Digital Pro Pocket Scale with Back-lit LCD Display, Hold Feature and 2000 x 0.1g Capacity is a small portable scale designed either for measuring small items or small quantities of ingredients that are sometimes demanded by recipes; some may use fractions of a teaspoon or tablespoon but others may use metric weights so low that using a set of digital kitchen scales may be impractical - they often tend to be incapable of measuring less than 20-25g and can be inaccurate at weights slightly above. This is to replace a broadly similar product purchased a few years ago and found so unreliable that the same item can produce vastly different successive readings each time that it is weighed, and they can vary within a range of a specific weight and another 15 or 20 times greater. Allowing the scales to acclimatise to room temperature, air movements etc which may conceivably affect it do not result in any improvement. Although absolute accuracy is not expected, consistency is as long as its readings are meaningful and within reason of each other. Accuracy is quoted as being as within 0.1g which is reasonable and respecatble, if not to laboratory standards which is not expected at this price level. There is no specifically quoted level of accuracy but it will read to within 0.1g and up to 2Kg. The scales require a 1Kg calibration weight which is not included and not offered by Amazon. Consequently 2 x 500g weights from Smart Weigh have been ordered, although they are together more expensive than the scales themselves. There is a CAL setting to help set its readings in the event that they should become unreliable over time. The scale is powered by 2 AAA batteries (carbon, not alkaline) which are not ideal and will be replaced ASAP for better reliability and their leak-resistance. There is two-piece hard acrylic case to help protect it when not in use, the larger section protecting most of it and the smaller section protecting the platform but either or both could double as a scale pan, the larger being the deeper and potentially more useful. As with all such scales, there is a backlit LCD screen and four control buttons which control power and its various settings including scale of measurement with metric (g), Imperial (oz), troy ounces (ozt), pennyweight (dwt), grains (gn) and carats (ct) as its options. It is also possible to Hold a reading and to use Tare (deduct the weight of a small container from the weight of that container plus contents) and a PCS (pieces/quantity) button, the function of which is to provide a count of a randon number of an item once a weight had been established for a specified quantity (10, 20, 30 or 40). The scales have several potential uses other than in cooking, include postal use, counting or weighing small components, weighing small amounts of scrap metal and especially precious metals, precious and semi-precious stones and also for those mixing photographic and other chemicals at home or in a laboratory as a substitute for an expensive high-grade balance. The scales are quite substantial, if judging by weight alone, and just about pocketable although it would need to be a large pocket. It appaers to be able to provide accurate and repeatable readings without wandering unduly between wild extremes. It needs a second or two to settle but is essentially immediate. Accuracy, with or without calibration, appears to be excellent and also repeatable which provides dependability. If you need a digital scale to weigh small quantites of anything, this is candidate.

I got Smart Weigh Digital Pro Scales to make E-liquid. I have used them several times and found the to be very accurate. It has a large clear display and is very easy to read. It has an auto shut off after 2 minutes from the last time it detects a change in weight, it's not been an issue for measuring the E-liquid as I get everything I need ready before hand. The tare function comes in handy too to zero out the display. I have also used it for weighing parcels to post, for large items it has a hold function so when you remove the item the weight stays on the screen. It you need the most accurate measurement I would recommend getting the Smart Weigh CW-500G Carbon Steel 500g OIML Class M1: ± 25 mg Calibration Weight. It gets my recommendation.
