Hush

Not one of the best Karen Robards books. The plot was great this is a romantic suspense but I didn't feel a whole lot of actual chemistry between the H/h. There is a whole lot of build up (supposed romantic tension) that just slowed the pace of the story. By the time the big romantic scene happened around 70% in I really wasn't that interested. The secondary characters were very one dimensional. But the biggest problem I had was with the suspense part of the plot. The "good guys" we're CIA and FBI and their behavior was more rent a cop than trained government agent. The dialogue is totally unbelievable and amateurish. And the "bad guys" were a joke. As I'm Writing this review I don't even know why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 2 except for the fact that I do enjoy Robards writing style and have enjoyed other books by her. I would recommend looking for another of her books.

Ms. Robards at her best. A story with 2 great characters: Riley Cowan married into a prominent ultra rich family, recently divorced, but still close to the family. Riley is beautiful, strong, very smart and absolutely not a doormat to anyone. Finn Bradley is an agent for the CIA. He is strong, intelligent, trust no one but himself, and shows little if any emotion. The story starts with a quiet bang, a murder that was originally considered a suicide. The victim is Riley's ex husband, Jeff. Jeff's father is in prison for the white collar theft of billions of dollars and every agency in the world is looking for it.It is a fast paced thrilling story with a little romance. Riley was being guarded, actually watched, by Agent Bradley. They formed an uneasy alliance to find the murderers and the money while trying to stay alive in the process. Riley trusted Agent Bradley, but he didn't really trust her. Murders and kidnappings were happening all around the Cowan family. Car chases, fist fights, gunfire, and just about anything else you can think of that could happen when that much money is involved, did.The story kept me turning the pages to see what was next. There are few characters, but all are important to the story. The main characters, Riley and Agent Bradley, are really good together and believable. Ms. Robards brought all the details together with a happy ending that made me a "happy reader". I give the book a strong 4.5 stars. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery/thrillers.Good reading to all,retired to read

I dislike reading reviews that detail plots and character back stories. If that is the kind of review you want, skip this one. This book has a riveting plot, the hero and heroine are not predictable caricatures, thereby leaving the reader wondering in a few key scenes if either of them are entirely as they seem. The sexual chemistry between them is off the charts. The entire book was almost a thrill ride, this reader was unable to put the book down. If you are a fan of Ms. Robards, DO NOT miss this one. If you've not read one of her books before, I urge to read Hush. I assure you, you will become a fan!

This is a fast paced contemporary suspense with adult relationships that is excellent. I have read many of Ms Robards' fine stories and this rates up there with the best. The characters and plot lines were clever. The ending unexpected but believable. A page turner that starts with a bang, races along, and ends with the reader hanging on tightly to the roller coaster ride conclusion. Wow!

I read the book, turned a lot of pages with my eyes closed, and put it in the box to sell at the garage sale for 50cents. I may not be the best person to have reviewed a novel full of plot and romance potential that is rife with the f bomb and sex. It would've been better (in my humble opinion) to leave the graphic language and sex out.

I bought this Ebook many months ago and never read it for some reason. Finding it in my Library was a most pleasant surprise. Ms. Robards did a remarkable job with this novel. Riley was written to be a strong character and I liked that. All in all, this book made for a really good read.

Though the procedural aspects of this title are a little dated (it was published in 2015, which means it was probably written in 2013 at the latest) I bought this because I love Robard's bodice-rippers and I wanted to read one of her more contemporary romance thrillers as crime is my go-to genre. I was not disappointed with this smart sexy suspense. The premise is eye-grabbing, the first few chapters pacy, the book slows to a crawl in places and there is way too much detail which is often repeated, yet some of the characters emotive reactions to scenarios could have done with being increased but as the sexual tension builds so does the criminal aspects of the plot until it's a full-throttle ride (pardon the pun) right to the end. The romance is obviously the main focus of this novel which is a shame as with a little tightening up this could have been an explosive erotic thriller.

I’ve read a number of Karen Robards books and this is one of the best. I really enjoyed Riley and Finn. Finn is a bit of a departure from the typical Robards hero and it was a nice change.

A very good, not the usual type mystery, want to keep reading book. This from me is praise indeed, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and didn't want it to end !

Karen Robards is one of my favourite author's and I particularly love her romantic suspense books. This one didn't disappoint.
