Tabac by Maurer & Wirtz Eau De Toilette Spray 3.4 oz for Men

As other reviews mentioned, this isn't your typical modern cologne that smells like candy or a forest woodsman. It's definitely a barbershop kind of vibe in the first hour or so, then evolves into a warm, powdery, kind of sweetish scent. Not candy sweet at all but super pleasant. It's hard to describe but it's really nice, and the one that suits me best. I "decanted" this splash into an amber spray bottle. I've been reaching for this every day over my other colognes, such as Tommy, Cool Water, and Lucky Brand.

Good quality smells good

I used to use this in the 1970's and really loved the stuff. This is the original from Germany and just as good as it used to be. the delivery was one day early and I was very happy about that. The size was surprising as it was much larger than I expected. Definitely getting a great cologne at a great price and I will buy again from this seller!You'll read a few reviews that this is more a cologne for older men and at 60 I have to agree. I don't see younger men wanting this even though when I was young it was fine regardless of age; that's just how things change over time. Now I'd have to say if you're under 50 you might want to wait. If you're over 50 or closer to 60 you'll really love this stuff if you never got a chance to wear it before. To me the smell is like a fresh powder leaving you smelling and feeling clean. There's different levels to it and all blend well throughout the day; but after describing all the various layer of scents they combine to result in fresh to me. Not strong or over powering but always there and never gets stale, stays the same all day long. For me it's like an old friend that's just right for me. And I like the fact that it's not a young guys scent of the moment or current fad; just clean, nice, subtle and...me. Hope that helps:)

One of the best colognes on this planet. Smells so good! And lasts at least 5-7hrs. Highly recommend !!!

Now I have to admit for being just shy of under $20 and getting 10.1oz of this cologne from Germany.White milk glass bottle and metal screw on cap.Nice little plug that covers the spicket so that none leaks.Speaking of the spicket it has a plastic insert so when you pour this out you shake it out.No, not a wide open mouth like you'd think spilling a bunch all over the place as one might expect.Now let's get to the interesting part...Tabac's scent...Tabac Original's Scent:Someone's probably asking 'why would I recognize this scent'? a very good question.Frankly I don't care how many ingredients are in a cologne the big picture is what you smell.To me this cologne has three notes:lemon,bergamot,and lavender.It's really similar to Jovan Musk except you have to imagine replacing the orange in Jovan with the lemon.Another similar scent like Tabac aside from a few other notes to be more expansive...Vetiver by Guerlain.But Maurer & Wirtz designed this scent character first so they've got dibs on originality.Tabac is very citrusy and soapy and bergamot does interesting things with lavender.Bergamot creates an old-fashioned richness and lends a smoky tail to that soap accord.My point being this cologne will do two things.You'll be juggling the notion if you like this or Jovan Musk more.But as inexpensive as Tabac is it really ridicules a lot of dollar cost from Guerlain's Vetiver scent.But between the three? definitely praising the Tabac Original more.The lemon makes it nicer,it's cheap and plentiful in what you'll recieve,and lasts throughout the work day.5-stars and highly recommended!

There are a lot of mixed comments about this product. It is relatively inexpensive so I decided to go ahead and try it. The product bottle is attractive and the quantity of product is excellent. This is something that you wouldn't mind setting on your bathroom counter. Lovely neutral colors. And it is from West Germany.However... the scent is well... how should I describe it? Let me just write what my wife said. Her first comment went something like this... in the form of a question. She said... do you remember what those old drawers in the bathroom smelled like in the first house we bought, before I stripped the shelf paper out, sanded the wood, then washed the wood with disinfectant, let it air out for a couple of days, and then painted it? It smells very old and dirty.Then she followed that comment up with this as she looked at me... when you wear that stuff you smell like some little old person that doesn't have good hygiene. And... when you leave the house with that stuff on... I get out the air freshener and walk around spraying to mask the odor.So what have I done with the product? I put it in a bottom drawer and am waiting to gift it for Dirty Santa.But... I do look at the bottle from time to time. It's an attractive package and would look very nice setting on someone's bathroom counter... but I digress.PS... this is not something that you can return to Amazon.It does make an inexpensive Dirty Santa gift if you need one sometime. Just be careful with gifting... if you value your friendship.
