Denis Wick5882-4X Classic Trumpet Mouthpiece, Silver Plated

Im a senior in high school. And im pretty good for my age but i need a mouthpiece that was more comfortable .thw comgort would lead to more endurance, since i didnt have to put forth more pressure. Man , this thing not only added endurance but the high notes i squeaked out became a lot more cleaner( double a and b) . My sound it alot more dark, nd brassy. Abit pricey but effective. If you like larger rims this is it. My last mouthpiece was a schike 14a4a and before that bach 3c

I've used many different mouthpieces throughout my time as a trumpet player, and this is one of the best. First off, the mouthpiece is extremely soft compared to most mouthpieces, drastically increasing the length of time you can play. Myself, I can normally play for an hour and a half before my lips are rather tired, but with this, I can consistently play for a minimum of three hours. The shallow cup helps reach higher notes without worsening tone or making low notes difficult to play. My only problem is how tight the hole/shaft of the mouthpiece is. Trying to play with a lot of air or playing loud is rather difficult.

Very brassy sound, easy to play. High notes are now easy to play, people have told me that now I play better, without knowing that I’m using my new mouthpiece. Cons: package, the little box is thin as paper! It was out from the original box, which was actually opened. Suggestion for the seller: the pictures on Amazon are really unclear, before purchase, I had to find actual photos in other web sites.

This MouthPiece is highly overrated in the literature. Problem: it appears to have a very low alpha angle and the manufacture as well as literature don’t mention this. A case of false advertising by omission? The low alpha angle can result in the lower lip “collapsing“.It’s supposed to be good for endurance. In fact the opposite is true. With this piece I have a lot less endurance than a similar sized standard Schilke rim mouthpiece, like a Schilke 11.I had expected a lot better results from a $70 MouthPiece. I will have to return it.
