Canine Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy

Veterinary Textbook
Very complete. Very detailed. Great reference book. This book can tell you just about everything a dog owner would want to know about his dog's musculoskeletal system and various rehabilitation procedures. It is aimed at veterinary health professionals with a rehabilitative practice. It is probably on your Vet's bookshelf. It will also answer your questions that you don't think to ask your vet. For example, various times a vet has commented about my dog having a heart murmur. Sounds scary. What can you do? Well according to Canine Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy, athletic dogs with heart murmurs perform better than athletic dogs without heart murmurs -- that heart murmurs seem rather common and not that big of a deal for most dogs. Glad I bought this book -- definitely worth the price.

Excellent text
This new edition is well worth the purchase, whether you have a special interest in rehabilitation or are in a general small animal practice. It's wonderfully thorough, and has added much to the previous edition. I have every canine rehab text, and while they're all complementary to each other, this is the most comprehensive one. The layout is easy to follow and they have added good coverage of basic physical therapy concepts- very helpful to me as a DVM. The authors have made all of these concepts clear and easy to apply to the variety of patients we see. It's a really helpful, enjoyable resource to have on hand.

Canine Rehabilitation and physical therapy, 2e
Excellent reference in canine rehabilitation. Well organized chapters and subjects. Best all around reference out there that includes all aspects and subjects of canine rehabilitation. If you must have one rehab book in your shelf, this is it. Companion site has excellent videos showing exercises and forms for the initial and daily evaluation of rehab patient. Congratulations to the authors and all the contributors, it was worth to wait for this book.

Excellent resource. Very comprehensive and well organized.
I'm a physical therapist who walks dogs at our local humane society. I am going to start working with a few dogs on a volunteer basis. This is an excellent reference book and a good resource for all canine PT. It's fun to see some of our treatments used on dogs. Ex. dogs on a ball.
