Don't look too closely and you might like it
I purchased this to go on my Squier Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz Bass, which is inspired by Jaco's Jazz Bass — i.e. no pickguard. I've never totally dug that look though, so I wanted to add a nice red tortoiseshell pickguard to complement the 3-tone sunburst finish.I had read the warnings that dimensions for Squier models can vary, and that these may not be a perfect fit, so I wasn't surprised when I got it and found it was not a perfect fit. I was prepared to file it down, although I was disappointed to discover that not only is the cutout for the control plate in the wrong place, it's also too wide, so this really would just not work. However, that is NOT why I am giving this a bad review. The bad fit was just me being a dumb customer and taking my chances on something I knew might not work. The reason I am giving it a bad review is that the pattern is not a true tortoiseshell look (i.e. colored dye swirled into translucent plastic), but instead is a cheap, blurry, printed-on pattern. From a distance it might kind of look OK, but up close it just looks like cheap garbage. In short, I wouldn't use this pickguard on my bass even if it DID fit perfectly. Unfortunately I am now stuck owning this worthless slab of plastic, because it isn't worth it to ship back for a partial refund.

Needed a little modification for a 2007 Affinity, but end product is good!
I bought this knowing that it might be hit-or-miss with a Squier Affinity Jazz. It DID NOT drop in. It needed a little modification in the neck pocket and control panel corner areas, but this took just a few minutes of filing and sanding. The pickup cutout is overly large in the ear area, but I think that is as much a function of undersized pickup ears as it is the pick guard. from 5 feet away you can't tell. All the screw holes lined up adequately... a few weren't perfect but they screwed down well.REMEMBER that these have TWO layers of plastic... after you peel the first one it'll look cloudy and fragile. Pull off the second layer and it becomes glossy and durable

Awesome! Really great value!
For $10, this thing is a steal! It is 3 ply, with the middle later bring white, so accentuates the white body of my bass really nicely. Speaking of bass, I put this on a Squier VM Jazz bass, and it fits perfectly. If you loosen up the tone control plate, it snugs right against it and the bottom of the neck, put the pick guard screws in, tighten the control plate screws and done.

Generally disappointed with fit and softness.
Bought this for a new 2018 MIM Fender Jazz. While the holes line up, the PG did not line up and needed some shaving at the control plate to fit. Worse though is just how soft this is. It was scratched out of the package and with my fingernails I accidentally made another. I play fingerstyle and so my nails are actually quite short. I guess I recommend that with a little effort, it fits and is the color I like, but the product itself is truly disappointing. Not really an exact drop-in fit on a standard Fender and scratches so easily. Not worth returning, but I would not purchase again.

Brown tort - fantastic; vintage tort - not as much
This is for the brown tort pick guard. I was really blown away by the quality for this low price. It’s even both in texture and color. Put it in a MiM Jazz and it looks fantastic, gives it a 60’s vibe.Update: I also got the vintage red tort one. Not as happy here. It has huge cream colored bits of plastic. Not as uniform in texture as the brown one. Also, the color is a lot more orange than the red that I was expecting based on the picture.

Perfect fit, almost!
My new pickguard arrived sooner than expected + number one, new screws + # 2. I did need to sand a bit to make a perfect fit. While I was doing the fit I saw a blem in plastic, and thought maybe I did it during the fix. I went ahead a fit it up, and grabbed the included card to see about return, but I had already drilled it for my thumb rest. The top line of the card said, " Our guards come with two film covers"! I pulled the second one off and the blem disappeared!! Whodda thunk it? Actual quality at a good price. I am a happy guy and my guitar looks like the expensive model! Thanks Musiclily! b

No Reason to Pay More - EXCELLENT alternative to Fender
Fit my body perfectly. Looks killer, see the pic for yourself on my new build. Perfect fit by the neck pocket, by the control plate and around the pickup. I see no downside to these over a genuine Fender one for $45 bucks. Cheap enough I'm going to order some more in a few other colors to switch up my look. Recommended.

Perfect fit
Bought this for cosmetic purposes and it fit my Jazz Bass Affinity Series (Product of Indonesia) just fine. This is the bass that came with Guitar Center's Beginner Kit. One screw hole was slightly off, but I kept twisting slowly and it went right in. Be advised there are two layers of film on the pick guard. I got the top one and was grumbling because I thought there was a flaw. My sharp-eyed, sharp-nailed wife got the second layer off and it looks great. Probably buy another color pretty soon. I mean, 8 bucks? Deal.

Looks great.
I bought this to replace the black pickguard on my Squier CV Jazz bass. The screw holes lined up perfectly and there was just a tiny bit of fettling needed round the neck join area.It looks amazing with the Burgundy Mist colour of my bass.Worth every penny.A word to the wise tho',there are 2 plastic film protectors here. You peel the 1st one off,and then think,'huh, that looks very dull.' Not to worry, theres another one to peel off under it although it isn't as easy to get started as the top one.Take that off and the pickguard is gleaming.Recommended.

Poor appearance
The seller is fine, delivery quick, but the product is very poor in terms of its appearance in fact so poor that I wouldn't put it on the bass, I'd rather throw it away and chalk it up to experience. The problem is there is no depth to the finish it's just a poor quality photo of the real thing (I guess). I'm sure it will be durable but its horrible. At just over £7 I got what I paid for I just should have paid more! I guess quality doesn't come cheap. Unfortunately there is another one even cheaper already on the way, groan!!

You get what you pay for
Alright quality, although there was a large stain on the back. Did not fit my Mexican Fender J-Bass properly, but I don't mind that because I bought it expecting to have to file it down (I needed a cheap replacement to alter in shape to accommodate my style). However, if you're looking for a pickguard that will fit out of the box, I'd go elsewhere.Arrived earlier than expected, and was moderately well packaged - I was pleased to see a double-layer of film on the outward-facing side, although I'm not sure it was intended.Overall, you get what you pay for; if you're okay filing it down to save yourself £15/20 then go ahead.

Good value. Makes my bass look nicer!
A good, cheap way to make my fairly cheap Squier J-Bass look a lot more personalised and expensive!

Very good value for money
Beautiful! I bought it to replace a horrible white scratchplate on a jazz bass copy. It fits perfectly and looks great.
