The adapter is a must-have if you have a surface pro 5 (2017 model). It is the same thickness as the surface, and I like the expandable Ethernet slot. I have used it many times during my travels to connect to the internet through a wired connection when Wi-Fi is not available. The dual USB ports have allowed me to transfer files from My DSLR to an external hard drive and to use my mini mouse while editing photos from the hard drive. Overall for the price It has worked well. I have used it daily with some abuse over the last month, it has held up and exceeded my expectations. Because I use it while On the go, it doesn't always get adequately stored; hopefully, it withstands my abuse. If not, I will purchase it again.

This product does not fit surface 3 or 4. The hdmi does not line up. However when tested on a 5 or 6 it is spot on.

The hub is extremely lightweight. Highly functional. Has everything I needed and more actually for an excellent price. It does get warm when in use, or even when not in use, it gets quite warm just being plugged in. If there was one thing I wish this hub had was a "sleep mode" where it would go to sleep if nothing else were plugged into it (while it was plugged into the surface) as even though nothing else is plugged into this hub it will continue to run (and run quite warm) and drains the surface pro's battery faster than normal.

Great little addition to my Surface Pro. I like that it has an aluminum housing; seems pretty well built. My coworkers liked it so much a few of them have ordered too.
