Serious steel
The negative reviews, I am convinced are from people that are not accustomed to forged, or untreated metal. The knives, were easy to put an excellent edge on. Hard to beat a blacksmith's style knife for ease of use and convenience. The forks, work. Its two small sticky points. Hard to say more than that. The spoon, is hardy and handy. You know you have a serious piece of metal in your hands when you grab the knife or spoon. Hand wash, dry immediately. They have gone on several camping trips and have yet to disappoint. Yeah, you could spend a lot more money on a set, but why?

Thank you
Nice and heavy duty. The knife was very dull. Took some time and effort to get it to a useable edge. They will require some cleaning prior to use, but thats normal...so heads up.

Simple yet superb
The only critical information you need is; dry after washing or you will get rust. Similar to how you care for cast iron skillets, yet not as severe. The product itself great in aesthetics and use. The knife though not razor could still cut though steak decently out of the box. The fork’s points pierce though even tough meat with little effort. The spoon head is like any other. The twist in the handles aside from aesthetics is excellent for gripping. I’ve used the like any other utensil with no issues. The leather sheath is sturdy and well made. I have no complaints

Bought As Gift
Bought this for my wife who absolutely LOVES it!! Carry's it in her purse-she is so proud of it. Esthetically it's beautiful and the craftsmanship is great, especially for the cost. I am sure I will get a set for myself!

Great price
Nice designs and made well enough for the price. Feel very strong and substantial but not overly heavy or anything. The knife actually has excellent ergonomics and the spoon has to be my heaviest spoon now. The ends are polished smooth on spoon and fork. These aren't just props they would be very enjoyable to eat with.Definitely forged except for the fork whose tongs are welded on. Forks like this with the two tongs were traditionally made by twisting two wires together. This fork isn't constructed that way so it isn't necessarily period accurate. The knife has a very uneven grind although its still quite sharp. And like everyone else said the utensils were drenched in grease which wasn't the easiest thing to remove. The leather sheath is actual leather but pretty cheap otherwise and is only just barely big enough to hold all 3 utensils. You have to do some tetris to get them all in, and once you do its busting at the seems. That combined with the sharp edges on the fork and knife gives me little confidence in the longevity of the sheath.Overall I would say great for the price. Took off a star for the problems with the sheath, the grease, and the poor grind on the knife edge.

Well Now, Where is That Roasted Beast!
I have no idea when I will ever use these utensils but they are totally awesome and a conversation piece, I will probably put them out at the next BBQ and see who tries using them :)The quality is great and the conversation/entertainment value impressive.

SZCO Supplies 7.25"" Fork Knife and Spoon Medieval Eating Utensil Set
I am VERY PLEASED with my purchase. Very well crafted, study and even the blade is sharp. The Utensil Holder, well bless their heart, they tried. Needs to be wider so the Utensils need room and to stay in the PLASTIC and oiled or they WILL rust. You are warned Noobs. The first time you use the spoon in coffee or the two twined fork & well-made Knife and the guard is excellent; you will never forget it. Mine was roasted deer back strap, then we caught Bass, lemon butter and chives in foil, Then it was wild pig, JUICY AF. Take care of these Tools, and they will be passed down to next Hunters and Fishers. Be well and Stay Alert.

will rust if proper care not taken.
washed with dawn dishsoap twice to remove the grease; seems they are fire blackened to a medium hard temper; the file will bite and skate intermittently on the blade edge. knife grind bevel, will require much work to have a sharp knife that will cut; as is spreads butter well.Care for these will depend on them not being exposed to damp air. they will most certainly rust. this is not stainless steel.what I did: I rubbed an amount of beeswax to coat the handle of the knife, and used a torch lighter to heat the metal so the wax would layer across the surface. the knife is now treated and rust proofed; with a slightly improved tactility to the grip. The craftsmanship: well to good grade; this will last years as long as they are not left to moisture, and treated carefully with wax when needed. The " leather sheath" : oh man.. it's .. paper wrapped in pleather, glued down, sewed, and slapped together. miserably construction; will require a new sheath to be made; fortunately i'm a leatherworker and the replacement of the sheath will not be any trouble at all.My only complaint is the esthetic twist of the metal gets in the way when attempting to stack the tools for storage. aside from that; expected a little bit of rust; but these are quality re-enactment tools.

Perfect for camping, reenacting or for something historical and different
Absolutely love the set. It arrived a day earlier than expected too! Gave them a quick.scrub with dish soap to remove packing oil, dried and they're ready for use. Perfect for historical reenactors from the medieval period to the early 1800s Also good for cooking over a campfire in general. Carrying case it came with is handy too. Would highly recommend

Just as pictured and described! Awesome!
These are amazing! Solid, heavy, just like the handmade ones a friend of mine has from a local smith! The knife is very sharp lol.The case is 'meh' but I am making a hard leather one asap. This one will do fine until then. It's solid enough to prevent the knife or fork from piercing the case.

Incredible blacksmith work!
Even better than expected, these Medieval cutlery are incredible! An amazing blacksmith work! They are sturdy and will last longer than me! -- Also, don’t be alarmed about that 'Cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm' warning on the box. You’re not going to get cancer or cause birth defects if you use and carry the set regularly. This is only the the result of California’s Proposition 65. You can read about it online.
