With limited space for a home gym this fits the necessary profile. Both economical, and well-constructed. After reading several reviews I would like to address some concerns: 1. Assembly: True, the directions are noting more than a schematic diagram. That stated, if you take your time, the degree of difficulty is minimized. 2. Parts missing: Like all products labeled "some assembly required, it's inventible that on crucial puzzle piece is missing. In my case, it happened to be a bully-bushing. Did it ruin my day...not really. I contacted Powerline; they were prompt in answering my telephone call. Not only professional, they apologized for the inconvenience. Adding to this, they shipped the replacement part, and it arrived in two-days. Just like that, problem solved. 3. The naysayers: Is this a machine you will find in a commercial gym? Probably not. That stated, it serves the intended purpose, and does it well. Sure, the seat is small, and the foam padding is not industrial quality, but you get what you pay for. In this case, I got a machine that is well-constructed, and serves the purpose. 4. Top-heavy: I have read the suggestions of adding sandbags to the back of the machine to offer stability. This can be an issue when using the lower pulley. In my case, I chose placing a 2X6 between the ceiling joists of my basement. The board rests against the front of the top crossmember on the machine. Again, home gyms require thing outside of the box, and problem solving skills. 5. No olympic collars: This is true, however I have found that using good form, and ensuring the weights are properly seated, this is not a huge issue. Again, this is a lat-machine that is offered at an economical price. There are certain "bells and whistles" that are omitted. Final-thoughts: This is an outstanding machine for the price. The minor inconvenience of a missing part was easily rectified, and Powerline was a pleasure to work with. I look forward to several years of a dependable machine that does not take up a huge space, nor drain your wallet.

Received my lat tower yesterday (11-6-2014) and it is perfect. Took 1.5 hours to assemble but I always take my time. I am 6'6" and have no issue with machine height. Just completed a great tricep pushdown workout which is my favorite tricep exercise. I have done this same exercise on a $4000 machine and no significant difference. I might add a 2x4 stand to the bottom to add a little extra height but it is not a necessity. Solid machine and everything moves just fine. The cables are great. Will be doing back exercises tomorrow and cannot wait. Also did biceps on it today along with a curl bar. Great addition to my home gym. Cannot beat the price. Buy this machine. My new favorite toy.

When I moved to my new place I decided to build a home gym. It's now fully functional and this was the last piece. I don't have much room and the ceilings aren't very tall in my basement, so I took that in to consideration. It fits well with some room up top to spare. For the price, it feels pretty solid and holds plenty of weight for my needs. The only other cons/nice to haves (in my opinion) to consider before purchasing are: 1. The seat is narrow and not too long. It still serves its purpose fine, and is removable when using the lower cable. It should also have another set of holes drilled for the knee pads. I'm only 5'10", but feel like the pads could be a little higher. I also wish it came with bigger d-rings to facilitate changing cables and bars. 2. The tower will tip away from you when doing curls on the low pulley. I remedied this at first by placing my toes on the legs. Now it is attached the 1/2 plywood it sits on with u-bolts from Home Depot. 3. The slide action is fairly smooth, but definitely not commercial if you're used to that. I will probably attempt to slick it up with car polish, or non-greasy lube. Try not to nick the slide post when assembling. I can deal with the issues above, they seem minor when actually using the machine. All in all, I feel that for the quality and functionality, it is worth the price.

I have had this machine for over a year, and used it several times a week. Considering the price, I remain surprised at the high quality of the product. The weldments are solid, the weight slide runs a plastic sleeve on a polished chrome guide for extremely smooth operation. The powder spray finish is durable. I'm 5 foot 8 inches so the height was perfect for me but not be right for someone too much taller. Also, one should not try to use the cable row with the seat in place as the cable can damage the seat. The only true inconvenience is that the cable and cross bar hooks are too small to release easily. I replaced them with considerably larger hooks from the hardware store. For all that is good about the machine, do not expect it to last in a commercial environment. But for home use, the price and quality seem just right.

Powerline is BodySolid's entry level line, it's good home gym equipment I am very familiar with. This unit is a very good basic unit BUT the plastic black inserts that go in the top and bottom of the weight carriage to keep it from jiggling sloppily are too damn tight. Even with generous silicone the carriage still sticks mid way. Now I have to come up with a solution, I shouldn't have to. FYI

When I first saw this product I was a bit skeptical given the low price. This component plays such a key role for back routines & triceps that I didn't want to short change myself getting something cheap. I am very glad I went ahead with the purchase, here is why. PACKAGING This product comes in two very well packed boxes, zip ties, foam cubes, completely sealed hardware bags and the instructions are very well laid out. ASSEMBLY This was truly a breeze to assemble. Just note in one of the reviews someone pointed out 11/16ths wrench for assembly, this is incorrect. These are metric fasteners so make sure you use the correct wrench. PRODUCT I am 6'4 so I thought I might not get a full range but it works just perfect. The apparatus slides VERY well with no friction at all. What I did was use isopropyl alc to clean the bar that the component slides up and down on. Then get yourself a can of silicone spray and give it a good application. I went with the olympic adapters for this and they work very well. COMPANY Amazon - got product out VERY fast. Body Solid - GREAT COMPANY - 5 stars When I was unpacking the product I noticed that one of the bushing pieces was cracked. They are nylon or plasic so I can see how they might crack. I spoke to the phone operator at Body Solid, very friendly, was able to identify the part right away and sent out replacement piece asap / no charge. I am now a LOYAL customer now of Body Solid. I will not hesitate to order another piece of equipment from Body Solid if need be and have no doubt if I need to order replacement parts down the road it will be taken care of. One small detail to mention is that included with this product is a small vial of repair / touch-up paint. That shows above and beyond commitment from this company.

I considered getting a bench with a lateral attachment but the limit was 150 lbs. For a gym lateral machine I do more than twice that. As others have noted the weight you add is the weight you'll pull. You'll not get that "gym boost" here. The machine is solid for the weight rating of 500 lbs. At 6 foot I get full range. I paid $260 and feel like I got a great machine at a great price that fits my limited space. Downsides for consideration. The seat does not adjust. If you have really big thighs you'll have to remove the pads to sit (not a recommendation). There ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS. You will get a schematic and it is not that hard to figure out so not a big deal for me. I have not tried the row motion yet but could see how it might lift. That said for my needs perfect!

Powerline PLM180X Lat Machine I have read some very good reviews on this item and was a little shocked when I had finished putting it together. First of all know that there are no instructions that have any meaning. Fortunately, it was not difficult to figure out. The machine appears very cheap. I have a difficult time believing that it has a 500 pound weight capability. I bought the machine for its price and reported strength of being able to hold this much weight. This is not my first weight equipment that I currently own; however, it appears to be made much cheaper than my other equipment. Aside from the cheap construction of the unit, also be aware that there is no way that any of the other people providing feedback on this item is able to get a full stretch from this machine. For $270 plus another $30 for the Olympic adapters I wish that I would have spent a little more to buy a lat machine worth owning. I wish that I would have seen a review like this prior to buying this item. If anyone knows if Amazon is good at exchanges please let me know.

Da seduto devo allungare bene le braccia altrimenti non riesco a prendere l'asta in dotazione Oggetti presenti: - asta larga e curva per lat machine e asta dritta corta - secondo cavo per fare esercizi come pulley e o esercizi per bicipiti - mancano i dischi (FORO 25mm) Cosa ho cambiato: - ho aggiunto un gommino piatto per il piede della sedia lì dove cade tutto il peso del porta dischi così da non fare rumore se sbatte - ho cambiato i moschettoni con altri più grandi e resistenti - ho acquistato a parte un trazy bar e acquisterò un asta dritta con le maniglie girevoli, questa è abbastanza scomoda Difetti: -bisogna lubrificare spesso il sistema per facilitare lo scorrimento dei pesi (20sec ci vogliono) però nel mio caso sento l'odore acre del lubrificante e da fastidio - la struttura è estremamente stabile però se si usa il cavo basso può alzarsi e quindi è opportuno mettere il piede sulla base della struttura per non farla muovere Conclusioni: - 355 euro spedi veramente bene!
