Giharu Cutlery HP-7 High Quality Steel Yoshiharu Chisel, Plastic Case, Set of 7

I bought these for my son for Christmas. He seemed pretty pleased with the set, and now that the spring semester at college has begun, he has had a chance to use them in his printmaking class for a wood cut project. He thought the handle seemed a little long (compared to his previous set) and wanted to cut them to make them shorter, but once he tried carving with one of the tools in this set, realized that the blade cuts wood so easily that he really doesn't need to put as much force by using the heel of his hand into the end of the handle like he did with his previous tools. He told me that he'll be using these tools as they are, without altering. So it seems this is a wonderful set for hobbyists and students as it was indicated in the info sheet in the set. (And by the way, the product's name should read 'Yoshiharu', not Yodhiharu as in the listing title. ^^; That's clearly a typo.)

Bought this because a whetstone was supposed to be included. First order opened and well no whetstone. Ordered again thinking Amazon may have fulfilled in error, but to my surprise no whetstone. Well, I’m Japanese and I emailed the seller. Got a Google translated response that’s barely Japanese that basically said dont order again. Well, I’ll return both and won’t but from YOU again. If you want a whetstone to sharpen your tools don’t buy this one bc it WONT come with one. That said, great for carving and sharp. Gotta love Japanese products too bad the seller isn’t great.

Razor sharp and ready to go straight out of the box. Some of the other reviewers said they had problems with these not being sharp when they got them, I did NOT have that problem, these were razor sharp.

I would not call these beginners carving tools. I’m an experienced carver and these were perfect for what I needed them for.

失敗するのは嫌だなぁと思って皆さんのレビューを見て此方に決めました。彫刻刀の要は切れ味ですが、スルスルと気持ち良い彫り心地。余計な力を使う事なく思い通りの深さに刀が入って行きます。学生の頃に使った彫刻刀とは雲泥の差（当たり前か…）学生の頃に彫刻刀で左親指をザックリ切った事があるのですが、原因の一つは切れ味の悪い彫刻刀で力を掛けた弾みで…と思っています。変な負荷を掛けずに彫れるのは安全第一にも繋がっています。お勧めです。

掲載写真と違うものだったので触ってもいないので品質レビューできません返品交換して欲しいとして返品しました受理されたので改めて掲載写真を確認再度発注したら同じ商品が送られてきました馬鹿にしているのかと言う気持ちになったので投稿しました。ブランドは同じで出品者が多数いるようなので他の品を選ぶのも不安（同じことの繰り返しになるかもしれない）Amazonも掲載写真チェックしてください。単純に色が違うだけでは済まされない理由が購入者にはあるのです

まだ試し切りしかしていませんがス～っと刃が木を彫ってくれました(^_^;)以前から持っていたものとは雲泥の差を実感です。そんなに高価な彫刻刀ではありませんがCPは最高ですね。電動彫刻刀も持っていますが、こちらのほうがちょっと細工をしたいときには重宝することまちがいないと思います。

ママ友たちと手芸クラブで色々なものを作って楽しんでいます。今回は、ゴム版画でお手紙やメモなどに捺す「落款印」を制作するためにこの製品を購入しました。先ず疑問に思ったのが、展示写真には「砥石」が載っていますが、実際には青いゴムバンド（シリコン製?）が入っており、何に使うのか分からず、ちょっとがっかり。でも、砥石は夫の日曜大工用のものがありますので、ショックも最小限です。構成に変更があれば正確に載せられることを望みます。だって、砥石付だからこれを選んだと言う方もいらっしゃると思います。切れ味は抜群です。木版もお遊びで作りましたが､恐いくらいによく切れます。もちろん、ゴム班も細やかな部分までもが綺麗になります。（ちょっと練習しなければいけませんが･･･。）おかげで、みんなそれぞれに世界に一つしかない、マイ「落款印」ができました。紙細工やお習字、絵画、お手紙、メモなどに捺印すると、とっても引き立つと同時に「私が作者だよ」と自己満足できます。大きな作品から極小のメモ紙用に、私たちはサイズの違った印をそれぞれ3種類作り、遊び心を盛り立てています。刃物は､右利き用と左利き用のものがありますが、このセットは右利き用でした。それでも、一人だけ左利きのママ友がいましたが、このセットでＯＫだと言っていますし、綺麗な作品に仕上げています。子供の学校の図工の時間でも十分に使えると思います。それと、耐久性もありそうで、手入れさえ良ければ長く使えると思います。7本セットで、大抵なものに対応できて大満足です。

この彫刻刀の良い点は削った時、木材にくい込みすぎないでスーッと入る。ホームセンターで売っている物は初めて使った瞬間、予想以上に深く刃が入ってしまい使いにくい（カッターと小刀ほどの違い）。もっと安価なものは、ホームセンターの彫刻刀をかなり使い込んだものが新品として売られている感じ（切れない!木の上を滑ってしまう）また、柄が長く太さも適度にあるので非常に使いやすい点と、刃の欠けや折れがない。２年以上使っているが、まだ使えてる。一番良く使う大丸刀がセットに入っている。
