Works with a bog standard M.2 (SATA) SSD. Due to a space problem in a laptop I needed an M.2 <-> SATA adapter (I couldn't just use a standard sized SATA SSD disk drive which would have been too big to physically fit in the laptop). This adapter card is ideal because it is the same length as a SATA SSD disk drive (10cm) but is narrower. Great product and price.

I wanted an adapter to test M.2 SSDs and was surprised at how expensive many of these were. This one was in my price range (as a tester) and it works fine but is in effect just like the connectors on a motherboard including the screws and spacer posts. The design is also very simple in that it appears to be a voltage regulator and just passes through the finer fins of the M.2 to the SATA connector, so I don't see why others need to charge more. This does the job though.

Unfortunately this device is not going to be installed again, I attached my new M.2 card then mounted the adaptor, after playing around in Bios I got the faint whiff of something getting hot, I powered down and found the only hot component was this adapter card and it was so hot I could not handle the thing to remove my card, after removing my M.2 it curled as it cooled, the other issue was the slot for inserting was tight it was only be a tiny amount but it still made the M.2 insertion interesting. Fortunately my M.2 card still works.

Works great , no problems , easy to use . What more could you ask for..

This is not for NVMe M.2 with a M key , I have 2 M.2 drive from Samsung and Corsair and neither of them fit.

Installed it in a laptop working fine with no problems
