Is there a separate button for the spot light so I don't have to press a button 1000 times on night deliveries

Two buttons, one does spot light then more powerful spot light then floodlight and again, more powerful floodlight, the other is for red or green emergency light. Easy and quick to use

Apologies for daft question ….. but how do you open the battery case to get the batteries in ?! I don’t want to break it !

Flip the light down, hold torch body, lift the small tab and pull forward at same time. It's a sturdy bit of kit but it pops open both problem.

Can you adjust the size to fit different sized heads?

Yes you can adjust the headband, the torch has a thick elasticated headband that you adjust to size.
