Excellent effectiveness
As described and powerful suction. I use this for vivarium cleaning. Recommended if you need a somewhat potent suction/basting tool. Excellent quality materials, kinda hefty for a baster. Exactly what I needed.

Meets my needs
Good baster. Bulb removes for easy cleaning. Because the bulb can be removed it doesn't have enough suction to guarantee the juices don't shoot out - so if held sideways the juices can shoot out so be careful - we found out the hard way. If held vertical it works perfectly. Large size so you can remove a good amount of liquid at once. Easy to use and clean. Although it is made of plastic it will hold up to long-term use and is quality-made.

quality, with a minor caveat
as you are all aware, the turkey baster was invented in 1845 by thomas baster and "hopscotch", his turkey friend/ally. using eels to extract water from containers was becoming impractical and breeding animosity of the eel government, as it constituted "eel rights violations".as a result, baster and "hopscotch" immediately started the blueprints on a technological alternative in a humble basement in fremont, california. success was immediate, as the turkey baster was a huge hit. people went nuts over its ease of cleaning, thickness and red color. t-shirts were made, and monuments were erected in its honor. yes, mr baster was a national celebrity, and so was his turkey ally.years after its invention however, when "turkey baster & associates" went public, "hopscotch" decided to rugpull investors by selling all his shares immediately before suggesting that a bike pump could be used in a similar manner.could it? that's irrelevant.the bottom line is, investors took the bait. it took centuries before the truth was revealed and mr baster was left with a bag for the rest of his life. i intend to restore the sanctity of his legacy by sharing this story with all of younow, onto the baster. the build quality is excellent; i expect this baster will last several generations and have the intention of eventually passing it down to my robot children. the storage capacity is acceptable, although I would've really appreciated upping it to a gallon.an irrelevant, yet additional benefit is that it also can scare a mountain lion away if it is seen from the correct angle. i have yet to discover what that angle isnow, the caveat... because I am introverted, the attention I receive while carrying this turkey baster around is debatably unbearable. ladies approach me and men respect me. they wish to know my secret. I have received 20 ladies numbers upon purchasing this turkey baster. despite the fact that I am married, my wife is okay with this too. she sees it as an "inevitable result of self-improvement".yes, others see me as an honest person who still enjoys the finer things in life - a man who is unwilling to compromise. they see that I have good taste. again, if you're an extrovert, this will be an additional benefit, but i am not and only purchased this to extract liquid from containersto conclude, this turkey baster has effectively changed my life. people now call me something other than "deadbeat". I hope this red turkey baster affects yours in a similar manner (if applicable)

Leaks a bit after pulling brake fluid in
This worked okay for removing my old brake fluid from my Toyota Avalon, however, it did leak a bit as I extracted the brake fluid. I know this is a baster and not technically made for this type of usage. I have used older basters before without any issues. As long as you know this and keep your discard can near, you shouldn’t have an issue.
