A really great textbook
I have used previous books before and I would lose interest in them or had to force myself to do them, but this one is really great. I think the conversations are practical and useful. I have already purchase the 3rd book. Only con is that the audio for the textbook is only offically available on a mobile site that visually isn't great, but works.

Late the Never
@L Hanson his/her review was extremely helpful. I should have read the instructions. I have been procrastinating with my Chinese Language, I should have be on level 4 by now. However, I have this book for over a year; practicing off and on without the audio. I been working on the activities in the book that doesn’t require the audio because I thought it came with a cd (and it was just not included). I read in the reviews when I first purchase the items that it didn’t include the cd( I thought it was weird that today’s book would still use cd’s but nevertheless). So I’m glad to find out late then never that it has a scan which is more modern for technology users. So this discovery will improve my practice and allow me to move to the next level faster.

Really good series
Really like this text and workbook - the exercises are meaningful, the texts are fun and build on each other and I learned a lot going through it. The workbook includes an HSK2 test at the end. I'm going through this with Chinese Zero To Hero. I felt like my Chinese skill measurably grew.If I had to offer critiques:- there's a lot of filler on the CDs. All of the exercises use the same examples, and every audio lesson reads that example. Audio tracks introduce the track in English and Chinese which you have to wait through each time. Audio quality itself is very good.- The pictures are small, low resolution and black&white, which can be kind of challenging to understand sometimes.Overall, definitely think it's a great series.

No CDs...Scan QR Code for Audio Files
Maybe I missed something in the packaging, but these did not come with a CD. Fortunately there is a QR scan code on the back that will take you TO the mp3s for the workbook, which was helpful though not necessarily easy to locate. (Gotta read the fine print.) The Audio is good, however, although a couple of the pictures can be difficult to make out in the workbook--I'm currently on Lesson 5. I've had to make some "educated" guesses on whether a picture or statement was right, given the limited information I had.Overall, the quality of materials is great, and the books shipped in a decent time frame. I happen to be using the Chinese Zero To Hero online course (~$30/HSK level), however, so I have access to the answer keys and online teachers to guide me through the textbook. I am self-studying at the moment, and the HSK 2 book is a lot, er, shall we say, more in-depth than the HSK 1. For self-learners, I would not recommend using this set by itself, unless you have an online Chinese course taking you through it. Overall, though, I'm thoroughly enjoying the book, even if the grammar does break my brain a little. XD Onward! 加油!

Good value for hands on workbooks
I might have missed when buying if the CD or access to steaming is available because 1 out of the 2 books is based on listening comprehension and without the accompanying CD or access to streaming, that book is worthless. We’ll see how the reading comprehension book is

No CD's?
I like the set up, but it would have been more useful if I would have received the CDs that went with it!

Cheap quality print
This thing feels and looks as if I had printed it at home.
