AMAZING BOOK
This book is a touching story about seven academically challenged kids (aka the Unteachables). Their teacher, Mr. Kermit, is too focused on early retirement to bother teaching them, until they risk their lives to save him from an accident in the river. This story is truly touching, about seven rejects and a teacher who couldn’t be forgiven for something past, who come together to be stronger than ever and form bonds with each other. Five stars, highly recommended for all readers.

Great middle grade book
Like most of Korman's books, this has a good mix of humor and educational perseverance.A group of students whom the school gave up on years ago, are placed with a teacher who's counting down the days to his early retirement after a cheating fiasco killed hos career and dreams over a decade ago. With the help of an old enemy and an overly enthusiastic fellow teacher, maybe the class and their teacher aren't as hopeless as everyone, including themselves, expect them to be.I liked that each kid in the class, plus the teacher, had their own chapters to present the story from their own perspectives. Sometimes, that ruins a book for me - switching between people just when I connected to them. It wasn't so jostling here. The story flowed nicely, and because the plot focused mostly on their class and school instead of closeups of their personal lives, it didn't matter so much when a different kid picked up the narrative. It was a good uplifting story about the power of self belief and perseverance.

Incredible! Funny, heartfelt!
Omgosh! This book is so well written. I couldn't put it down. My granddaughter told me to read "unplugged" so when I saw this title I figured I'd try this first. The way the whole thing unfolded and how well written! Every kid should read this book. I read "where the red fern grows" many years ago and it's still one of my favorites. This book is right up there with it. I laughed and cheered and felt all the ups and downs with the kids!

Great for all ages!
My family listened to this on a road trip out west. The adults enjoyed it, as did both kids (9 and 13). Fun and educational. Well written.
