Don't use this, it will be impossible to clean after. Use it only in clean watter.

No. Setting the timer triggers the start process but that doesn't mean to say that you can't just quickly input a random time and then switch it off when you choose. Time entry is really simple. It can be done in seconds from plugging in. If you need it to be operated unattended then it's best to go for one of the models which allow this - and which are more expensive. This is a good unit and works well. Reliable and straightforward to use. No frills but does the job perfectly well.
