3M Scotchgard Clear Surface Protection Bulk Film Roll 3-by-120-inches

This was my first time applying this product. I applied it to a repainted Harley Tour-Pak where the passenger backrest is (it rubs through the paint) and on a repainted fairing where control cables sometimes contact the paint. Because of the curves and corners on the surfaces, I found it easier to cut the film into sections. I used a solution of distilled water, alcohol and baby shampoo. It went on easily for a first-timer, but getting into corners takes a little extra effort. I used one of the skinny plastic yellow body putty squeegees which was helpful in tight corners and I found that keeping everything really wet helps to get the film positioned well. I was pleased with how it turned out and with the pearl white paint you really have to look hard to see where the film is.This product was advertised as being 120 inches long, but there was only 96 inches. Fortunately, there was enough to do what I wanted; otherwise I would have returned it. It shouldn’t be that difficult to measure out 120 – it must be the new math! So I’m knocking one star off for this. Get it together, folks!
