Loved this book!
I have started reading some of Kathleen Fuller's Amish stories and just finished reading "A Reluctant Bride". I truly enjoyed this story. It wasn't just an Amish romance, but it was a story of families with struggles and a couple thrown together who might never have been. Aden Troyer struggles with a very cruel father who happens to be the bishop of their community and Sadie Schrock struggles with an unexpected loss that forces her to be the head of her household. She also has a strong dislike for Aden's brother Sol and because of a past incident, doesn't care for Aden, either. Usually most people know how romance books will end, but enjoy reading good ones. This one kept me captivated from beginning to end and I was happy with how Kathleen Fuller told their story of love. I had already read 3 of her Amish books (Amish Letters Novels) and enjoyed them, also. Kathleen Fuller has officially been added to my list of must read authors!

Must Read For Amish Fans Who Want A Different Storyline!
This is an AMAZING book! I have gotten away from reading Amish Fiction, and this book reminded me why I love this genre! This plot does deal with mature issues so if you prefer a cleaner Amish Romance with no violence or assault, I would say look for another book. For those like myself that like an Amish Fiction with an edgy subjects mentioned throughout the course of the book, this is highly recommended! We are introduced to two families that were both affected by an encounter with one of the bishop's family members shakes young woman Sadie Schrock and makes her never want to go anywhere near boys again, especially Solomon and Aden Troyer. Sadie is so ashamed that she doesn't tell her family what happened. The two other people in her Amish community who knows Sadie was harmed that day was Solomon and Aden Troyer. Solomon had taken a sudden interest in Sadie that would make her uncomfortable who is 3 years Sadie's age at 19 years old. Aden Troyer is younger and smaller in build than Solomon. He is the same age as Sadie. Aden Troyer has always been shyer, more humble than his older, larger, brother Solomon that is the apple of their father, Emmanuel's eyes. Aden knows he was too afraid of Solomon to defend Sadie that fateful day 6 years ago. When a horrible tragedy forces Sadie to ask Bishop Emmanuel for help, it changes both families forever. I love every element and twist in this book! It is most certainly not your typical Amish Fiction!

I really enjoyed this book~!
Really nice Amish romance with more than just fluff. There are some heavy issues that both Aden and Sadie must deal with. The results of physical and emotional abuse are shown and you see how even as an adult the wound that is carried because of it. I love how Sadie learns to let go of her hate and forgive when she sees how caring and remorseful Aden is for his small part in her trauma. I can't help but question her intense hate/fear of Sol for his forcing her to kiss him. Maybe in Amish culture that is a huge deal, but the way she acted I would have thought he had raped her. Nonetheless, she was a victim and you can see how it affects her, even years later. Aden is a great hero and you can't help but fall in love with him as he tenderly loves Sadie, even when she is very rude and hateful to him. The part where he stands up for her and defends her makes up for his cowardly action as a youth. He also learns to forgive and move past his traumatic past.So if you are looking for an Amish book with some good meat to it, this is definitely one to put on your must-read list!

Great writer, Great storyline.
I had the joy of meeting the author Kathleen Fuller in Charm, OH, after meeting her and hearing her enthusiasm for Amish writing I had to jump in. So glad I did. This lovely story evolves around Sadie a young lady with a fractured heart and spirit. Sadie is then hand a large list of life tragedies. Through tragedy she is placed in a forced marriage to Aden. Aden is also very fractured by events in his life and his family. Their journey to become a trusting and loving couple is beautifully written with an amazing story line. Take this journey of Trust, Love , Faith, and Family with Sadie, Aden, Sol, and Family you will be glad you took the time to enjoy your day. Thank you Kathleen for your spirit and talent.

We all have family issues that help us grow.
When Sadie was a young Amish teen, she was attacked by an older Amish boy who was drunk. Sol's younger brother, Aden, saw his brother & left before helping Sadie. In her mind, Aden deserved her distrust & hate as much as Sol did! When a tragic accident happened to her family, the community's Bishop tried to force Sadie to marry one of his sons. How does Aden end up helping Sadie? Can she ever forgive him? What's happened to their church's funds? This is a wonderful book about forgiveness, redemption & God's changing wrongs into blessings. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

A very pleasant love story.
This was a wonderful book. It took us to many aspects of their relationship, and you're able to really see their relationship blossom in every detail. I'm glad both Aden and Sadie were able to find themselves, and each other and be truly happy in the end.

Twists and Turns abound
So lovely to see that God is always in control even when we don't think He is. He always works things out for our good.Good story--I liked the fact that she got the right man for her when it looked like he was not going to be the right man.

This book (A Reluctant Bride) is a good Amish read
This book (A Reluctant Bride) is a good Amish read. I enjoyed it, however, it is really not complete without book #2 (An Unbroken Heart). I have read several books by Kathleen Fuller and always find her work enjoyable. There are some twists in this book which keeps the reader interested, and also places where I had empathy for a couple of the main characters and the twists their lives took. I would recommend this book.

An Exceptional Read
This is a gripping story to say the least. Love grows out of hate and fear. I had such deep feelings as I read through this story. It is a tale of good overcoming evil and love coming from understanding. A must read for sure.
