The Hobbit: Or There and Back Again

The book is amazing. The quality of the hardcover and pages is very good. The outer material feels like fabric with beautiful shiny text. The end pages have map. The pages are off-white with beautiful fonts. The book really feels expensive and it is a good collectible and one should definitely have this book in there collection

Got this book a couple of days back. Good job by Amazon there! As for the quality of the book, the cover is rather attractive and has a good finish. the parer quality is a bit rough and dull but makes up with the content. Maps and other graphical images add to the appearance of the book. Now, about the book, the grammar is rather simple and easy to understand clearly indicating the reason the writer wrote the book. Quiet different from the movies. The characters and their personalities are quiet different in the movie and created in such a way as to make them look more grim and serious. Personally I feel that the book is a bit amateur but I hope that it was created that way intentionally so that the authors children could easily understand it. None the less, this book has made a great start into the LOTR series slowly settling down into the characters and giving every minor details of the plot. Overall, This book is a must read and I'm sure you will be quiet amazed even after you have watched the movies. Also, I suggest to buy this book over other versions of the book as this is a lower price and overall good quality. Quality: 4/5 Content: 4.5/5

I am a nobody to comment on JRR Tolkien. This review is only for the print and edition. It was perfect. Arrived flawless in proper bubble wrap packaging. The art work on the cover is as good as a it is for a collector's edition. Worth it in the price range. The paper is thick, the font is easy to read, no instance of faint printing or an over flow of ink. It is in all senses an original copy.

It is the best adventure book I have ever read. It is beautifully written and anyone who wants to begin reading fantasy can start from this book.

I bought this famous book "The Hobbit" from Amazon. It is a really beautiful book. The book has beautiful photos, its pages are soft. The text is of medium size, which is easy to read. No complaints with the content of the book itself, a legendary story written by a legendary author. About this particular edition of The Hobbit, i must say, i love the gold plating they've done. It really enhances the visuals and it looks beautiful! The book was only slightly damaged from the corners but it's negligible for me. the quality of the pages isn't bad at all even though it's more of a budget edition. MY MAIN COMPLAINT WITH THIS EDITION - seriously, why is the glue so stiff? it's really difficult to even turn the pages without feeling like you're gonna damage it. it will take a while to get used to a glue this stiff. i expected better. This edition is also slightly smaller than the genric tolkien hardcovers. Conclusion: go for it, if you're okay with the concerns i mentioned, the book does look really good.

So I’ve always found the hobbit book designs to be either too simplistically mature for the content, or too colourfully childish for me to want to put it on my bookshelf. This one though in my opinion is very well put together.
