Introduction to JavaScript Object Notation: A To-the-Point Guide to JSON

Very clear and fast to read JSON book, especially for beginners
Even if you know nothing about programming you will understand this book. It is extremely clear. It is an excellent book to begin learning JSON, JSON Schema, and beginning JSON security vulnerabilities and what to do about them. It was written in 2015 and therefore is more up-to-date than other books. It touches on other related technologies like AngularJS, Node, etc. JSON doesn't care about what language you write in - PHP, ASP.NET, HTML, etc. This book gives plain English examples, then progresses to simple JSON coding. It does not give a lot of extra examples to work through, but does show what to watch out for, and references to other resources. You can read this book in a day or two, perhaps in a few hours. It's only 112 pages including the index. If you want to know if what you are crafting is good JSON data, but don't need to understand the in-depth programming of JSON, then this is an especially good book.If you are a total beginner to programming, or don't know a lot of programming lingo, then this is a great book.If you already know some JSON, this book is NOT for you, go buy a different book.

worked for me
Some of the analogies the author attempts in an effort to draw parallels between abstract programming concepts and non-techie life just didn't work for me.Having said that, I am a database, powershell, C#, etc. programmer by profession, I already know the programming concepts. I just wanted to get a sound foundation for working with some rest apis and web services that return json. And this book did that perfectly well for me.

Aveiro, Portugal. Data analysis solutions in a big hospitalClear text, with well structured examples.I learned to use JSON in a practical solution, in a robotization project to deliver data to doctors.Sometimes the book is of different levels, for those who use it.

Great, concise, introduction to JSON
This is exactly what I was looking for. A concise but fairly thorough treatment of JSON.I'm a (primarily) SQL developer but my organization is considering moving some of their data into Mongo. For me this was perfect; enough information to be able to do intelligent research.

An average book
There's nothing wrong with the book except that there are so many long and (in my opinion) boring "real world" analogies about everything from seagulls to kitchens compared to what I want to pay for. The book could probably have been cut in half and nothing important would have been lost. Or rather, I would have liked the same length, but many more concrete and practical examples and more detail. The explanations aren't always that great either compared to other O'Reilly books (and I own a lot of them). They're not bad - but absolutely not great.

Excellent book for JSON
Recommend the book to developers who are involved in integrating data across multiple systems. Good set of references for references.

The book is a good intro to JSON
What can I say. It's an O'Reilly book. The book is a good intro to JSON. You can find all of the same information online. If you are like me and on occasion like flipping through paper, this is worth the money.

having a writing style that is very engaging and easy to read
This book is really well written, having a writing style that is very engaging and easy to read. The format presented allows the reader to easily understand the knowledge being conveyed through analogy and metaphor that can be easily understood by anyone. The book does exactly as it promises, focusing on data interchange as a concept and how JSON fits in to the bigger information systems picture as at the time of its publication. The book does not waste your time with historical cruft, or, speculation as to future trend, but does however, provide links to reference that does detail these aspects if you feel the need to explore. Each chapter has a clear set of goals for the reader and achieves them brilliantly enabling the reader to gain clear understanding at each stage. The book was easy to hold whilst reading not having too many pages and can be thoroughly read in a day, and after reading you will understand fully what JSON is, where it fits in the information systems architecture, and how you can apply it to your projects.

Simple.
Es tan introducción a JSON que sobra la mitad del texto del libro pero viene bien para practicar inglés.No está mal, pero para mi gusto faltan mas ejemplos para mostrar bien los cimientos de JSON.
