Surprisingly fun for all age groups, adults as well as kids.I heard about kubb from a friend. With my 6 year old kids loving cornhole bean bag toss and bowling style games, I started looking and found this set on Amazon. There are many different sets similarly / higher priced but digging through the listings, I found that ApudArmis sells a variety of classic wooden outdoor games, so I went with them instead of the other "one-off" brands.The "official" kubb game rules are definitely geared towards adults but I simplified my game to work with my kids. to simplify the game for kids, I did the following:- I ditched the corner stakes to make it less technical- I adjusted the spacing to work with how far my kids could "under-hand" throw- I played a simple "knock 5 kubbs down, then knock the king down" rule instead of reintroducing knocked down kubbs and moving baselinesOnce set up, the kids played for hours and they were able to reset it back themselves, so that was great! We played on grass but I could see this working well on dirt/sand. If playing on hard surfaces like driveways, I think the throwing sticks would bounce a lot and I'd be concerned about it bouncing and hitting people/things.The zippered carry case is nice and holds everything well. The wooden pieces hold up well, do expect staining when playing on grass. Do expect some knicks and dents as well since it is wood, I didn't experience any cracking or splinters even after hours of play.This has become my kids' favorite summer game and I'm really glad I got this. I'm going to check some of the other games ApudArmis has to see if it might be worth a try since I expect the materials and quality should be similar to this one. Overall a very nice set, very happy. Had many people walking past on the sidewalk asking about it :)p.s.: The instructions are complicated if you're a beginner and want to play with adults by the official rules. I suggest googling or searching for "how to play kubb" on YouTube as there are some really good videos that show you how to play. I originally posted a couple of my favorite links but I didn't realize that wasn't allowed, so I'm just mentioning it and you can find what works for you. Much better than trying to learn from a piece of paper :)

Portable and packs up easily. Well made and durable.

The best yard game. Not too heavy. Well made. My 7 and 5 year old love playing with the grown ups - it brings all ages together! It’s easy to set up, you just need a good amount of grass. You don’t need to stake anything.

Have only used it once, but seems of good quality. Comes with a canvas carrying case. Not sure how durable that will be. Really fun game!

The wife and I are addicted to this game! Its such a simple game but its so much fun. Setup is easy and the rules are easy to follow. All you really need is flat ground. The wood blocks do get beat up and discolored from the grass (especially after I mow), but that is to be expected from a game where you are throwing wood at wood. This set has held up well and the carry case is a must! All of the pieces fit in nicely and can be stored easily

I bought this because I saw friends playing it at a birthday party. It's a fun game, but here are the things I wish I knew before I bought it:1) The games can go on for a long time and people can get frustrated and irritated, especially if you're playing in the sun.2) When frustrated people throw the wooden poles to knock over the posts, they throw them harder and your more likely to have tosses that can hurt spectators or other players.3) The wood chips and can crack. We had someone throw a pole at the king post to knock it over and when it struck the post, the corner just broke off. Repeated throws and hits with the poles on posts create visible dents, cracks and deteriorate the materials faster than I expected.

Love this game. The carrying case is a power play. One of the dowels cracked but likely user error
