LUCID Mattress, King, White

I've waited a couple weeks to write this to make sure I could give the best review possible. This is the first amazon.com review I've written and is the first product I felt was worth my time to do so.I found out about this product from a certain deals forum when the product was listed at a great discount. The price of the king mattress has gone up about ~$150 since. I was in the middle of redoing my master bedroom and decided it was time to also buy new bed furniture. So it was the perfect time to update my mattress and move from a queen to a king size. My old spring style mattress was starting to sag and causing me back pain every morning. The old mattress was at least as old as I am (30) so it was way over due to be replaced. I never owned a foam mattress but my parents have a temperpedic that they like. I like a softer bed and my parents temperpedic while not exactly soft was great for back pain. I decided on getting the 12" as I liked the idea of two different types of foam on top of the base foam. So I took a gamble on this mattress thinking for $400 it can't be any worse then what I have. All I can say is the gamble paid off.Item was quickly shipped and delivered in a large brown box with the mattress tightly rolled in plastic. Box had some slight damage but I blame that on ups. Item inside was without any issues. It will require at least 2 people to get the box inside as it is bulky and heavy. DO NOT take the mattress out of the plastic until you are ready to put it either on your bed or close to it. As soon as you take off the plastic the bed will start to expand and rise which will make moving it difficult. Mattress comes with a very nice very soft bamboo cover.I would suggest letting the mattress air out for at least 72 hours before using. When I first placed it on my bed it was only about 6" tall. After 72hrs it was at a little over 10". After a couple weeks it hasn't hit 12" so has maxed out at about 11.5". I did notice a slight smell that previous reviews have mentioned. I had a ceiling fan and floor fan pointed at it during the first 72 hours along with partially removing the mattress cover. The smell will go away. With all foam mattresses you should not place this on box springs and should place on a mattress foundation. Box springs defeat the purpose of a foam mattress. I picked up a split king mattress foundation locally for $200.Coming from a standard spring bed to a foam bed took me a day or two to adjust while sleeping on. It's just a different feel all together. Having slept on the bed now for a couple weeks, I can say its one of the most comfortable beds I ever slept on. I normally sleep on my side or stomach and in either position I sleep great. I rarely if ever sleep on my back but because of how this bed forms to you slightly I've actually slept on my back comfortably a couple times. I don't notice any additional heat that I guess some foam mattresses cause so it must breath fairly well. Sleeping with a partner is a little different than on normal spring beds. The foam will conform to both of you if you sleep close together, but if you try and move away at some point during the night its a little more difficult as the area you were sleeping in don't raise up instantly. Because of this you tend to roll/slide back into place. It's just something i've gotten used to and I would guess is a foam mattress thing and not specific to this brand.Overall I am very happy with this purchase and glad I jumped on it when I did. Even if I only get 5 years out of this thing, for the price I would still be way ahead verses buying a couple thousand dollar temperpedic or similar. If the price drops again I may purchase a queen size for the guest bedroom.My only minus and somewhat of a warning is something also mentioned in one of the negative reviews. This mattress claims to have a 20 year warranty. This sounds great and all but the warranty card supplied in the box the bed came in and the box itself, has no company contact information whatsoever (address, phone number, etc). Searching for the LinenSpa company online I haven't really been about to find them. So if for whatever reason in 5, 10, 15 years you need to make a claim you probably will have a difficult time to do so unless amazon picks up the claim.

I bought this bed in King for my wife and I after quite a bit of looking around at memory foam beds. I liked the reviews better on this than the sleep innovations from what I could see. My wife and I went to a local mattress store and tried out all their memory foam mattresses, and I would compare this closer to the tempur pedic in firmness than the others. It is a very firm bed, but not an uncomfortable firm. You really do feel like it doesn't give much under you, but I think a large part of this is how thick the mattress is.We had a spare room that we weren't using yet so we opened the mattress in there and then let it sit for 2 nights. There was a strong smell but it wasn't a horrible smell, just the smell of any new memory foam mattress. If you aren't used to them the do all do this and the smell lasts for a few days or a week.After 2 days we set it up along with a foundation we purchased from Amazon that was recommended with it and put them into our existing bed frame. We did also purchase the mattress protector Amazon had listed and it fit the mattress great. It fits perfectly and is a bit thicker than our old spring mattress was. I am a bigger guy at a bit over 300 lbs, and my wife is 8.5 months pregnant right now and 200 lbs. The mattress is working great and we both love it so far. It doesn't have so much give that you feel like you can't get out. You do have to roll a bit when you went to get out of the bed but that is natural for any memory foam. Even at my weight I don't push down into it to much. That speaks towards how firm it is though, it is much more firm than the other off brand memory foams, and even those are more firm than most firm spring mattresses. It is comfortable though and we have slept on it 3 nights so far without complaints. The smell lasted another day or two but then went away or I just don't notice it at all anymore.Our sheets are a bit tight on it with how thick the mattress is, but they still fit. My wife and I have both slept a bit better on the new mattress, I still wakeup a few times at night but I always have and need to adjust around a bit. The mattress is not hot as some have suggested, it seems to breath well but that may be with the mattress protector added causing that.If anything about our review changes I will update this post, but for now it is 5 star for me. It is not the same quality as tempur pedic or the other 2 grand plus model's, but it is very close and well worth the price.

We purchased a king and it did fit the bed perfectly once it had completely unfolded and it does have a nice cover. I found the mattress too soft for my own comfort and after a few nights sleep and waking up with a terrible back ache I returned to my old mattress with a gel foam mattress topper and put this new mattress in the spare room because there is no way we could figure out how to get it back into the box once it had unfolded. To be fair to this product I have to be honest and say that I am having difficulty finding any product that has the correct balance between support and softness due to a medical condition and for those who want a softer memory foam mattress this product is probably a good buy for the money.

i was looking for a new mattress...after 20 plus yrs with the old one...i was looking for a memory foam type , and read reviews (all seemed to be positive). the thing that got me, was everyone said the smell would be bad, take 24hrs to dissapate...**no smell!! whew! anyway, the only thing is, i had a california king mattress before, and this king size is a little smaller...not too bad, but it is really comfortable, so getting a good night's sleep is a reality again! to those who think these are fake reviews, believe me they are not, a very satisfied customer...looking forward to another 20 plus yrs with this one..*sadly, it will probably be my last one!! lol!

If there were more stars, I would give this mattress and even higher rating. I only wish I bought it sooner. We absolutely love our new king size mattress and it is the perfect combination of supportive and firm yet soft and comfortable. If you are hesitating, don't. It will be the best money you spend on a mattress of this quality. It is far superior to my expensive spring mattress and was a fraction of the price. Absolutely love it. It did have a little bit of the degassing smell for a day or so but nothing too unpleasant and was gone quickly with an open window. Buy this mattress and sleep soundly. You and your partner won't disturb each other and it will help all your aches and pains.

My wife loves this bed. Me less do, but it's okay. Make sure you have a flat solid surface underneath. I find it a little too soft. Next time I would do two different types of foam in twins instead of one king.

Like many other reviews, this mattress is good at the onset but it soon begins to lose its comfort and creates a lot of backaches. Initially thought it was the bed frame a year into the purchase and bought an additional platform for support. The advertised comfort and durability is definately not living up to it.
