Dogs My Love Nylon Rope Slip Dog Lead Adjustable Collar and Leash 6ft Long (Small: 1/4" (6mm), Black)

I bought this Lead in a medium. I have a Shorthair German Pointer, she used this from about 5 months old till she snatched it for her chew toy one day, at about 10 months. When I replaced it, I bought a larger size. This rope is slightly smaller in diameter than the fat kindergarten pencils you used as a kid. If your dog pulls for long periods, the Nylon will cut into your hand. Both myself and everyone else in the house disliked the size for that reason. The product held up fine, even as she was approaching 55 pounds. And there were a few rabbits that put this rope thru its testing! If the loop is placed right up behind the ears, almost at a 90 degree angle to the nose, this was like power steering. But due to her slick coat and neck shape it would slide down and have to be readjusted. However it was always the lead we grabbed when she needed to go out. It is sturdy, easy to use, brightly colored and easy to spot. It stayed clean and when we did wash it, it handled the wash well. I'm looking forward to getting the XL and will see how it does.

When I first got that leash I was very happy. The main thing I was looking for is for it to be soft and “glidable”. I’m a dog trainer and it’s very important. The whole idea of that leash is to teach a pup not to pull.When I correct the doggo I need a leash to tag and then immediately loosen up around their neck. The problem with this leash is that it didn’t last long. It started tethering after couple of weeks causing it to get stuck and put pressure around the dogs neck when it was supposed to “release” because the dog stopped pulling.Also, bigger size leashes have another problem. The welded part of the ring is not smooth and it catches on the leash which gets stuck ( again, preventing it from gliding and loosening up ) plus causes tethering as well.

Excellent slip lead! Love it. I adopted a Staffordshire Terrier and she's lovable as heck but she is STRONG! When we were at the Humane Society, they recommended a harness & I stupidly forgot about Cesar Milan and what he recommended. The harness is a disaster of course. I stopped at my local dog groomer and I was 'pulled into' the store by my dog. The woman was very nice and could see me struggling. I told her someone had recommended a 'pinch' collar (but in my mind I was picturing this type of lead not the metal collar). We slipped it around my Stella's neck and discussed the merits as she almost pulled my arm off trying to greet the groomer's dog! I then described the Dog Whisperer show and the collar he used - it was the kind the show dogs used. We took off the pinch collar, slipped this slip lead up up her neck and... she SAT DOWN! :):):) I didn't like the collar or thickness but I liked the results so I bought it and have searched for a better slip lead since. Then I found Dogs My Love in the 1/4" dia. and it's perfect! Stella looks gorgeous as she walks and the lead is strong but comfortable. Thanks!!

I gave this leash 5 stars because it does not, and should not, stretch. I found the four foot length slightly too short to comfortably use with my Scottie but it would be fine with a taller dog. I bought the six foot one for daily use and keep the four foot one in the car. I had to exchange the first one that came because the adjuster wouldn’t slide. The next two worked fine.

I do love how easy this leash is to use. It especially helps when you have a hyper when they are excited to go for a walk! If they are pulling it tightens up and if they have a pace similar to yours it loosens. I love that! It isn’t super thick like I expected it to be so it is very light. We already purchased another for our smaller pup.

A dog trainer recommended this type of leash to me, called a slip-lead, for puppies. It wraps around the most sensitive part of the dog's neck and gets an almost instant response. It doesn't hurt the dog, just gets his attention! This is a very strong well-constructed leash, nothing cheap about it. Only one thing -- the leather slider is very hard to move. I will get some wax and try to make it move more easily. The price was right, and shipped fast. Very well-made product.

I love slip leads for walking dogs. I volunteer at a shelter and walk quite a few dogs every week, and so far these leads are holding up well. This thin lead is good for walking both large and small dogs. It is very soft and flexible. It fits very well on the neck of small dogs, like chihuahuas, and also works well on the larger dogs who pull a lot. The thin gauge allows me to position the collar portion very high on their necks, right behind their ears, where I have the most control and they feel the pull the most. Many dogs stop pulling as soon as they feel the pressure that high up on their neck. I would buy this lead again.

This leash is just what I needed. The price point was right, the thickness of the cord is great for medium dogs, will work on smaller dogs, and will work on bigger dogs if they're not wild roamers. A lot of these slip dog leads are so thick that it makes it hard to use for any other dogs but big ones. I'm a dog sitter, so I found that this leash allows me to use this on most of the dogs I have cared for. I do recommend this product. It's not oooh wow top notch quality, but for the price, it's a good value.

No problems at all. This is EXACTLY what I wanted down to the diameter of rope! Works great with my XL American Bully. If you’re worried about strength - Don’t be.
