I have a second level bedroom over a rear patio slab and the drop would hurt you bad, if not kill you. I had to get this ladder for cheap insurance of anyone who uses that bedroom when visiting me.I've taken it out of the box and checked all the straps and steps for soundness, but I have not tested it as it looks like it would be a pain to try to bring it all back together into the compact size it is now. Not saying it can't be done as they claim this is supposedly reusable.Mine did look like it was in excellent condition, and everything seems snug and sound. The steps seem to be a nice distance apart and the top rung will easily fit over my window sill - I did test that so I would not have to worry about it.One reason I got this one is because it describes the product as reuseable - many of the ladders I looked at were a one-time use. Honestly, it there was a fire you'd probably never use this again anyway, but I've got grandkids and they get into everything! I could picture them opening up the box and checking it out and me not being able to get it back into the box. I wanted something that was grand-kid proof!If I ever have to use this, I'll update my review - but for now I highly recommend.

It is very strudy and i have not yet used it but im ready for if i ever have to and feel comfortable that I can rely on this ladder to get myself and my family to safety

Light weight, fits in window. Had a practice run.Stores under foot 🛏 easily.Makes me feel a little more calmer trying to be prepared in the worst case scenario, especially, teaching the 8 & 9 yr. old how to access it in case of emergency, if no adult can reach them.Very happy with this purchase.🔥🪜

Heavy duty, quick set up

We have a historic home with some balloon framing. Nice peace of mind knowing one of these old homes can go down in 30 minutes. inner connected smoke alarms and a fire marshal inspection shortly after we bought it goes a long way also. It's also 22' + to the ground from the second floor windows.

Seems to be well made and will do the job of saving lives!Haven't had to use it and I hope it's never put to the test.

It will do the job, hopefully I'll never need to use it. Two story house so had to have an escape plan. This ladder is less than ideal, but as I said, it will hopefully never be used.
