Great Value for a Solid Performer
I've had my headset since 2017. Only now in 2025, the mute light stopped working. The headset continues to work like a champ. The headset is pretty light. The boom mic is good. It folds up for storage. Sound quality is good.

Comfort and quality
Was looking for a lightweight headphone replacement with retractable mike and settled on the Logitech High-performance USB Headset H540. It did not disappoint. The fit is comfortable and can be worn for hours without any discomfort. The ear pieces contour well to the ear and angle slightly inward to add to the comfort. The padding is soft, but also allows the ears to breath (not ear encompassing). Ear height to to head arc/rest adjustments are as easy as a slide click away.Sound quality is excellent for gaming, YouTube, podcasts, music, movies, Discord, Zoom, etc. with crisp dynamic range, however, it could use more Bass support. The flip down mic with mute (lighted indicator an added plus) is equally excellent, clear and concise. The fact that the mic can be flipped up and hidden when not in use is a great design. It is very lightweight and not bulky at all. If you want a single ear with and ear free configuration, the left ear can even be positioned off ear without a problem and still be comfortable.Recommended.

Solid Budget-Friendly Wired Headset That Gets the Job Done
I'd call this a really good entry-level headset if you're looking for something straightforward that works well without breaking the bank. The H540 is lightweight and super easy to use - just plug and play, no complicated setup needed. The sound quality is solid for the price point, and the mic picks up voice clearly without issues. I used it regularly for work calls and basic gaming before upgrading to a wireless option (mainly needed more freedom of movement). For the price, you're getting a reliable headset that handles the basics well. It's comfortable enough for long wearing sessions and the USB connection is hassle-free whether you're on Windows or Mac.If you need an inexpensive headset that works well and you don't mind being tethered to your computer, this is a great option. Sure, there are fancier headsets out there, but for basic use - calls, gaming, music - this one definitely delivers good value for money.Bottom line: Perfect starter headset or budget option for anyone who needs something simple and reliable.

A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE
i recently bought all five levels of Rosetta Stone to improve my Italian. The package came with a cheap looking headset. Rosetta Stone is a language learning program that requires you to both listen to a foreign language and speak it back. My language learning has been handicapped by my own hearing issues and the fact that I wear hearing aids. If I listen to an unfamiliar foreign word, I have to be able to hear it clearly, and that's been a struggle in face to face conversation, to say nothing of straining to clearly hear words in an unfamiliar language through the filter of a computer headset. The headset that came with the Rosetta Stone CDs produced muffled, unintelligible speech. I hauled out an older Logitech headset that I'd always thought worked fairly decently with Skype calls, but it actually wasn't much better. The Italian words spoken on the CDs still sounded like the speaker was distant and hard to hear. Both the Logitech and Rosetta Stone headsets made my hearing aids squeal with so much feedback that I had to take them out, making it even harder for me to hear.I started looking for options and found the Logitech h540 headest on Amazon Prime. The reviews were impressive and in two days I was plugging them into a USB Port on my computer. I pulled up the Rosetta Stone and plunged back into the world of spoken Italian. I was stunned. I am still grinning.I just finished a lesson and scored 100%. I could hear every word as if a native speaker was sitting right across from me. The clarity of speech was startling. It was like I had somehow gotten my 20-year old hearing back. I even left my hearing aids in and there was not a peep or hint of feedback. YIPPEE!I threw my old headset into the garbage. This one is a winner! It even has a mute button and a =/- volume control right on the headband where it's easy to reach. I often make Skype calls to relatives in Germany and this truly excellent headset is going to make a huge improvement in call quality there too.I am happy to recommend it to you.

So comfy! Great sound :)
I bought this for work. The headphones are *really* comfortable. I do wear glasses, so around the 2 hour mark, i have to take the headphones off and readjust. I start to feel a dull ache where my glasses meet the headphones on the side of my head. The volume adjust and the mute on the right side are great features. My favorite feature, though, is the boom mic. It tucks between the earphone and "headband" part perfectly. It looks well protected in its place, and I can lay the headphones perfectly flat. It's also great that the mic is not obnoxiously or noticeably in front of my mouth when using it.One review I read said that you can hear yourself in the headphones. That happened to me the first time (30 minutes) I used it. Since then, I've worked 17 hours and with fast and slow internet connects (other person, not me). I haven't heard myself in a delayed loop back since that first time. Now, it's crystal clear. I have no idea what made it loop back at first. The cord is a little stiff- the bends from storing it during shipping have not straightened out yet. It hasn't gotten in my way, though.I hate Windows 10. But it's on my desktop...and the headohones work with all the applications.(Off - topic - don't be fooled by Skype Preview or whatever it is on Windows 10. It's completely worthless. Stick with traditional Skype so that you can use all the features. Chances are good that tbe person in the other side of the camera has access to traditional Skype anyway.)
