Siete Sauce Enchilada Red 15 OZ

I am a native New Mexican living on the east coast. We had been resorting to making our own red and green enchilada sauce in order to have good Mexican food (I prefer green and my wife prefers red). We have found that we love the Siete Sauce red and green sauces and it really simplifies the process of making homemade enchiladas for us. They are a bit pricey, but if you add up the ingredients to make your own sauce plus the time and trouble, we think it's worth it. We haven't tried it yet, but the red sauce would probably make some great pozole, too!

I used this enchilada sauce for homemade chicken enchiladas, and overall I was really happy with how they turned out. The sauce has a rich, smooth texture and a nice balance of tomato and spice flavors that worked well with the filling. It saved me a lot of time compared to making sauce from scratch. I also liked that it spread evenly and didn’t taste overly artificial. However, I found the spice level a bit milder than expected, so I added extra seasoning for more heat. The portion size was good for one large meal though. Overall, it’s a tasty and convenient option for quick dinners.

I coat pan seared chicken with it and throw on some cheese for a quick and great tasting meal.

When Trader Joe's changed their enchilada sauce, I tried several alternatives in search of a replacement. This is the closest I have gotten. I add a Tablespoon of brown sugar to the jar and it is makes it close to Trader Joe's original and restaurant quality.

Bought this because it's a healthier option than the one in the grocery store. Tastes pretty much the same, but I like that I am feeding my family something better quality.
