Very nice reel smoothness is ok not the greatest but well worth the money casting distance is more than thought it would be

It is a good reel for beginners, but a bit large for younger kids. You will want to do a few casts off the water to test the line. On the one I received, as soon as the line went slack it would twist into knots. I had to strip off about 30-40 yards of line to get down to usable line. There is still plenty of line left on the reel though.

Have always been partial to the Zebco 33 reels.They cast well and are consistent. They are well built and durable.

I love everything about Zebco reels. They are easy to use, intuitive, durable, and an excellent value for the money. My lovely wife caught this nice fish with a 33 micro and Hotcast combo. I have some spinning and baitcasting reels too, but Zebco spincasting reels are always my favorite reel to use. Every single Zebco I use, and I have ten, is a winner and a fish catcher. They never fail to cast, retrieve, and function properly. Every angler should own one! Zebco has transformed me. Instead of fishing I can now concentrate on catching and trying different baits and lures.

Mine came feeling horrible so I took it apart and re greased and oiled it. I also had to really crank down the handle and it ended up cracking slightly other then that it worked good after.

You got to admit the 33 zebcoCan ask for anything more and I got a rod that matches it in color pink and purple she's loving it we should help her catch more fish though

This is a great little reel, it brings me back to my early days fishing as a young boy. Just about every one started with a spincast reel. This model has stood the test of time, the new 33 model has some great features, it is sturdy and solid. I mainly use baitcasters now but plan to set it up and use it for casting smaller baits, it will work good on windy days or for skipping a bait. I have not used it as of yet but lam sure it will do the job. All in all this is a good little reel at a great price. This reel is now super tuned I have added 3 more bearings , it now has 4 bearings and it works even better, you can get these bearing from amazon at a cost of about 4 dollars a reel. It is worth adding them if you want a even smoother reel and easy to do.

My son is autistic and we have recently taken up. Fishing together, he struggled initially with a traditional reel, so I purchased this, he loved it, easy to use, no messing about, he was fishing in no time, I on the other hand struggle to use it, just haven't got the touch, still not sure how to turn on the bite alarm though, my boy has since started to use a traditional reel also but won't be without this one so 2 rods it is lol. Would recommend this to anyone, sturdy, compact, looks great, no messing about, very practical and accurate, great product.
