The sizing descriptions for this product do not seem to be accurate in my experience. My son is 58 pounds and 51 inches tall. That falls soundly in the "youth" category according to the item's size chart. I reluctantly got a medium to give room in case it shrank in the wash and because he likes his shirts loose with room to grow. The medium fits him just right, so thankfully I did not get the small. I am not sure why more purchasers do not provide the height/weight information in their reviews to help other purchasers, but I am hopeful this will be a good guide for someone else. My son loves the shirt though.

Size is way too small. Ordered a size 6 and the size on the label says extra small. Do not recommend.
