these things are the best budget subwoofer i’ve ever owned
for only being a 10 inch subwoofer this thing absolutely bumps. i have 2 of them wired at 1 ohm in a potted box sitting in the trunk of my car, along with 2 more skar audio 8” subs. one an ix series and the other a vd series. though this subwoofer sounds great and has a great frequency response and clarity, i would recommend putting it in a sealed box. i’ve never been able to fully blow one of these subwoofers. i’ve pushed over 1000 watts of clean power through one while testing it. played for maybe 15-20 minutes at that power. the thing took the beating and didn’t even think twice. now if you’re reading this, please don’t do this. these things are great entry level subwoofers and i would recommend them from anything from car audio to home theater applications. two of these are powered quite well from a rockville rva-m2 amplifier or a standalone single channel amplifier if being used in home theaters.

Not a bad product for the price
Sound really good, paired it with the correct wattage skar amp and skar box that was matched for the sub.

Very powerful and gets low for the RMS rating
I have had many Skar products, all the way up to a Skar ZVX12v2 running on a Skar RP-2000.1D (2000 watts RMS) with all kinds of charging system upgrades. I don’t do competitions or anything, I just like loud music. Space is limited for me now, so I got a single IX series 10 inch sub in a prefab ported box. It hits hard and hits the lows with authority (running on 250w RMS). Very impressed with the output of this sub on such a small amp . Obviously as you go up the line with the Skar subwoofer lineup, the louder they are, but this one HITS very similar so the VXF 12 I had. Punchy and powerful. You’ll feel the bass. This IX 10 is perfect for limited space applications.

Great build quality and ridiculously low price.
An exceptionally well built and well priced subwoofer. These have to be the best subwoofers for the money. I'm now a fan of Scar products. I wish I had more to review. I feel really good about finding a new maker of quality products at an exceptional price.

Big punch for a little package
I was missing the base in my jeep and figured 200 watts and a cheap amp might help a lil so I paired 2 of the ran parallel to a power acoustic rz1 2500d and these are some hungry subs for their size. Great sound and thump for the price!

TERRIBLE!
Edit: Delivered Aug 9,2016. It is not Aug 25th and the sub is DEAD DEAD DEAD. No sound, no bass, NADA. Hooked up different sub to verify amp and head unit working and it is. Also pulled sub out to make sure wiring still intact, yup. Sub fried on 300w w/ ZERO DISTORTION and clean signal. Voice coils are toast. Wasted $50. Prob got a dud. FIRST AND LAST SKAR PRODUCT I SPEND MONEY ON! Not even worth sending back. Shoulda got an E-Series Sundown instead. Live and learn..This sub SUCKS plain and simple. For $50, you can get a WAY better sub. I thought because of the good reviews it would be a decent 10" for my beater beach car. NOPE! Let me preface by saying i have EXTENSIVE experience in car audio, been in for 20+ yrs since the days of MTX Terminators, Blue Thunders, and the gold lettered Kicker comps. Thats early 90s. I can build custom spec'd slot ports, t-lines, and horn boxes. Im also a mechanic by trade so I know a lot about electrical diagnosis, ohms/resistances, watts/amps/volts, and all else that comes with car audio installation and diagnosing. With that said, here's the deal: These Skar IX line subs are TERRIBLE and a single 4ohm kicker 10" comp series (not even a CVR) in a SEALED BOX on 300watts smashed this 10" dual-4ohm hooked up at 2ohm IX-10 that i had in a spec 1.25c/ft ported box tuned to 37hz. RMS on this IX-10 is 200watts w/ a max of 400w. I had it first hooked up to a 300w Kicker Monoblock at 2ohm, plenty enough to meet the rec RMS wattage of 200watts, and it was horrible. Reached volume 18 (50 is max volume and usually run my stereo at about 32-35) on my pioneer head unit before bogging started Checked and rechecked my wiring w/ a multimeter to make sure everything was hooked up and at the right impedance. Still, bottoming out the coil and bogging at low volumes. I then hooked it up to an Alpine MRV-M500 500w @ 2ohm mono amp. Set the gains to my head unit so no distortion and same thing but it got a hair louder, got to about 25 on volume. Even then, a kicker 10 in sealed box was twice as loud at half the volume on the same amp/head unit so it's not the install or other components that is malfunctioning. I don't know where the good reviews came from, but i should have just spent the extra few bucks for an Alpine typeS, Rockford P2, or a Sundown E series. Any of those are proven to bump pretty hard in a spec box for budget subs under 100bux. I really wanted to like Skar and had i liked this sub, was going to try the ZVX-8 in a T-line but im not gonna chance it now. I'll stick to proven stuff like sundown, american bass, or rockford p2/p3's
