Conant TH6LFC Vermont Weather Station with Living Copper Finish

It works but it’s too small

purchased this thermometer for outside my laundry room window. placed it along side a thermometer on my enclosed porch for a few days to see how well it matched readings and it was reading the same, so I figure it's pretty accurate. I like the looks of it in the copper finish and it's easy to read just out the window. It is around 4 inches in diameter. really nice looking and useful item. Shipping was great and it was packaged well with fragile marked on the box.

A few years ago I bought one of these when they were still manufactured by Conant Custom Brass in the USA. They were an exceptional quality thermometer at that time. I regret leaving that one in my old house when I sold it, because today, they are sadly not the same quality. The company name is different (now just "conant") and everything about them (even the box they arrive in) is a bit cheaper. They are still good, but, as another reviewer noted, the bracket in the back is way too tight, so the thermometer does not pivot well. I broke one recently while trying to remove the mounting rod... :( That said, even though the quality is not what it used to be, this is probably still the best comparable brass thermometer on the market (or at least, the only one I can find!).

I had not read everything there is to read about this item..---be forewarned. i expected it to be some 10 inches at least so i could affix it outside and read it across the window... the face dial is about 4 ½ inches in diameter... and although it looks neat , it is way too small to read from 10 or 15 feet distance....

Very very very smallDifficult to read

The copper is beautiful and mine is quite accurate but it is really a bit too small. I need to be quite close to it to read the face. Can't read it across the room though as I get used to it I'll be able to know the temp by the angle of the arrow.

The Weather Station is pretty accurate for the most part. It is beautiful and functional. My only complaint is that the second screw that came with the item stripped when I tried to finish the install and the item is just a little crooked. I wrote to the manufacturer to no avail. They have just ignored me.

Looks nice, seems to work, but mine cannot pivot on the mounting rod, so it can only be mounted on one side of the window--the wrong side for us. I doubt that was the intent, but the bracket on the back of the case is too tight. I'm afraid the rivets will break before the rod moves.
