The ample quantity of meat bits tastes like real beef, the mushrooms are fully of mushroomy goodness and the noodles are a kindness to my tired body. The portion is revivifyingly large for one hungry person and reasonable for two who have been eating lots of hiking snacks. It's not going to replace the coconut chicken curry in my heart, but it is definitely something easy and tasty to look forward to at the end of a trail day.One caution is that the instructions understate the water and soak time and can leave the meat and mushrooms a little crunchy. I find a full 400ml of boiling water and a 20 minute hydration time with a second round of stirring/mixing half way through gives good results.Given that it's better in quality (and in quantity) than the fast food I might easily buy on the way to the trailhead, I'd say these are even pretty decent value as pre-packaged backpacking meals go.

Wow, these are delicious! Not just eddible with questionable ingredients. I try different brands and am happy if they are edible, they usually contain some sketchy ingredients. These taste amazing and have real ingredients! No more MREs or Mountain House freeze dried for me. Those survival meals are just for that surviving, Peak Refuel is for thriving at what you are doing. They also require less water than other brands, which can be a consideration if weight an spare water is an issue

Out of the three peak refuel meals we tried this one was our favorite. But we did find that it wasn’t enough for two people.

Absolutely delicious! Great portion size, good ingredients, and really filling. Loved the mushrooms and the sauce. The meat had good flavor but it was cut into small cubes and they still didn't rehydrate very well. The noodles rehydrated really well and held up to a little longer soak/steam than the package said. The sauce thickened well at the 25 minute mark.If this was a couple bucks cheaper I would be inclined to stock up on these. I think Mountain House is a better value and the flavor is a pretty close runner up to Peak.All in all, it was a great warm meal at the end of a long day on trail.

So good! Excellent balance of sauce, beef, and noodles. Perfect comfort food at the end of a long hike.

I am sure I have had worse food … but I’m not sure when or where. Flavor is ok .. definitely not great. The noodles are broken so it all ends up like the consistency of oatmeal. I used 1 cup of water vs 1 1/4 … otherwise it would have been the consistency of soup.

Thee absolute best backpacking meal I’ve tried yet. I keep going back to this one after trying other ones. If someone served this to me on a plate at a restaurant I would never have thought it was a freeze dried meal.There serving size is a bit to much (obviously it 2 servings) but it’s perfect if you’re with a partner. Wish they would make a 1 serving. Other than that it’s got what you need. 10/10
